The Federation is the defensive corner of the game’s three core factions. It represents diplomacy and unity among the core worlds of the Alpha Quadrant, and it rewards patience more than aggression.
This page indexes every Federation ship, officer, hostile, mission and star system covered on this wiki, and explains how Federation reputation actually moves.
How to earn Federation reputation
- Completing Federation Missionen
- Defeating opposing faction hostiles
- Faction-specific events
- Faction traders, which give large amounts of reputation for their level
- Faction daily missions, which also pay Federation Credits
Reputation drops when you attack or harm the Federation or its allies inside Federation space.
Let it fall below Tolerated and entering Federation space triggers a powerful hostile that attacks you as a trespasser, which is the practical reason to keep an eye on it.
There are five reputation locks, and once you pass one your Federation standing can never fall below it again. The Fraktionsruf page has the full 35-tier ladder and every lock threshold.
The Federation faction store
Reputation unlocks progressively better stock, bought with Federation Credits:
- Ship blueprints
- Recruit tokens
- Raw resources
- Commendations, which some missions require
Buy Commendations only while the mission that needs them is on your active mission list. They are easy to waste otherwise.
Föderationsschiffe
Föderationsschiffe are built to last. Strong shields and hulls let them outlive opponents in long engagements, which suits an endurance playstyle rather than a burst one.

The dedicated Federation Officer Group is: WOK Carol Marcus, WOK Joachim, WOK Leonard McCoy, WOK Montgomery Scott STFC guide, WoK Saavik.
Federation hostiles
These are the Federation targets you will be grinding, whether for reputation against a rival faction or for their drops. All 24 on the wiki: Baelosianischer Kreuzer, Baelosian Guardian, Bälosischer Bergmann, Bälosische Speerspitze, Federation Combat, Federation Elite Assassin, Außenposten der Föderation, Föderationspatrouille, Federation Peacekeeper, Federation Scout, Federation Sentinel, Federation Starbase, Federation Supply Dock, Federation Trader, Federation Transport, Federation War Armada, Forsaken Cruiser, Forsaken Destroyer, Forsaken Dreadnought, Forsaken Scout, Section 31 Scout, Section 31 Troubleshooter, Starfleet Guard, Starfleet Recon.
Federation missions and star systems
The wiki covers 131 Federation missions and 117 Federation star systems. Browse them at the Federation missions und Federation star systems archives.
For missions grouped by the level the game recommends rather than by faction, the mission guide indexes the walkthroughs across every arc.
Working with more than one faction
You can build all three, but gaining reputation with one usually costs you standing with another. Most commanders specialise until they hit a lock, then switch, because the lock protects everything earned so far.
The other two core factions: Klingonisch, Romulanisch, and the Orion Syndicate sits outside the three.
For the armada targets that move reputation fastest, see armada locations und solo armadas.
