USS Antares Vermessungsschiff

The U.S.S. Antares is a grade 3, Rare Federation Survey ship in Star Trek Fleet Command, and it is built for one job: pulling gas out of mining nodes faster. Its Gas Mining Laser raises your gas mining rate, and it unlocks at Shipyard level 30. If gas is your bottleneck in the mid game, the Antares is a solid dedicated gas hauler that keeps paying off as you tier it up.

How to get the U.S.S. Antares

Building the Antares takes 100 Antares blueprints and a Shipyard at level 30. Blueprints for this ship have come from the Föderationsfraktion store, and level 31 and higher Federation ships have also dropped them, so Federation-space grinding and store buys are the usual routes. Channels rotate over time, so treat those as the typical sources rather than a guarantee.

Once you have the blueprints and the shipyard level, the build cost is 4,900,000 Tritanium, 171,000 Dilithium, 2,500 3-star Common Refined Crystal, and 625 3-star Common Refined Gas. The build takes 21 days. The Antares can be scrapped once your Betrieb reach level 41, which makes it a candidate feeder ship later on.

U.S.S. Antares ability

The Antares ship ability is Gas Mining Laser, and it increases your gas mining rate. At ship level 1 the bonus is 70%, and it climbs to 250% at level 45. Ship abilities are always active, so the boost applies whenever the Antares is parked on a gas node. In practice, leveling the hull is what turns it from a modest upgrade over a starter miner into a serious gas producer, so keep it progressing if gas is a resource you burn through.

U.S.S. Antares active ability

The Antares also has a player-triggered ability called Automated Defenses. When you activate it, the ship gains combat effectiveness while it is attached to a mining node, which helps it survive when another player tries to run you off your gas. Like other activatable ship abilities, it runs on a cooldown, and the ability itself is unlocked through the ship’s refit rather than being available by default.

Stats and tiers

Base values below come from the current game Daten; research, buffs, and officers raise them in play. The Antares tiers from 1 to 9, and levels to 45.

Ebene Warp (speed / range) Impulse Cargo (protected) Shield HP Hull HP Health (displayed)
1 2.1 / 30 75 262,500 (3,000) 8,470 6,190 7,330
5 3.2 / 40 75 412,560 (3,520) 24,190 6,190 15,190
9 4.5 / 70 75 750,000 (5,000) 69,090 6,190 37,640

The Antares is a miner, so the number that matters most is cargo, which reaches 750,000 at tier 9 with 5,000 of it protected. Its shield HP grows a lot across the tiers while hull HP stays flat, which is normal for a survey ship that is not meant to trade blows.

Weapons and firing pattern

Warm-up is the round a weapon first fires, and cool-down is how many rounds pass between shots after that. The Antares carries a single energy weapon, so it is lightly armed by design.

Waffe Typ Shots Warm-up Cool-down Damage Crit chance Crit damage
Phaser-Geschütztürme Energie 1 1 1 9,865–12,058 10% 150%

Crew slots and officer bonus

Officer slots open up as the ship gains levels, from a single slot early to a full bridge of seven at level 45.

Ship level Officer slots
5 1
10 2
20 3
30 4
35 5
40 6
45 7

The Antares also boosts your officers’ own stats as it tiers up. Its attack, defense, and health bonuses are identical at every step, so one ladder covers all three.

Amount Bonus
200 30%
400 60%
650 90%
900 120%
1,200 150%
1,600 180%
2,200 210%
3,000 240%
4,000 270%
6,000 300%

U.S.S. Antares refits

The Antares has one refit that unlocks its active ability rather than tweaking a stat.

Nachrüstung What it does
Antares Auto Defense Unlocks the Automated Defenses ability. When Automated Defenses is active, the survey ship gains greatly increased combat power against players while it is on a mining node. Costs 120 shards to unlock.

Crew for the U.S.S. Antares

Because the Antares is a dedicated gas miner, crew it for mining and survivability rather than raw combat. Officers that raise mining speed or protected cargo get the most out of it day to day, and officers that add hull health or mitigation help it hold a node when someone tries to attack it during a mine. Pair that bridge with the Automated Defenses activation and the Antares becomes stubborn to push off contested gas. For current top picks, check the Officer Tier List, and keep in mind that the best crew shifts as the meta changes.

The U.S.S. Antares in Star Trek

The Antares has real screen history. In the original series episode “Charlie X,” a Federation survey ship named Antares found the sole survivor of a crashed transport, the young Charlie Evans, and later delivered him to the Unternehmen. In the game, the design is framed as an updated take on the old Earth Cargo Service Y-class freighters that ran the early shipping lanes to and from Sol, which fits its role as a working survey and hauling vessel rather than a warship. That lineage is why it shows up as a gas miner instead of a frontline combatant.

Is the U.S.S. Antares worth it?

For a grade 3 ship, the Antares is a worthwhile pickup if gas is slowing your progress, since its whole value is a large, always-on gas mining boost that grows with the hull. It will not fight for you, so do not expect it to double as a combat ship. Newer players who lean on gas for Raffinerie and building costs get the most from it, and the level 41 scrap option means it can feed later ships once you outgrow it.
