How to read this table

A few terms decide how an officer plays. Faction is the group they belong to, like Föderation or Klingon, and it often hints at their style. Rarity runs from Common up to Legendary, and a higher rarity usually means a higher ceiling once you invest. The synergy group is what triggers crew synergy when you seat officers from the same group together. Captain maneuver is the bonus an officer gives only when they sit in the captain’s chair. Officer ability works from either bridge seat. Below decks is a smaller passive bonus for officers stationed off the bridge. Role tags point you to what each officer is good at, like hostiles, PvP, or mining.

Star Trek Fleet Command officer factions

Officers span more than a dozen factions in the current game. The six largest each have their own table below, and every faction is covered in the master table above through its faction filter.

Federation faction officers

Federation officers lean toward defense and endurance. Their abilities help you outlast an opponent and blunt incoming damage, and they tend to do their best work in Entdeckerschiffe.

Klingon officers focus on attack and raw weapon damage. Their job is to end a fight fast, which makes them a natural fit for interceptors.

Crew synergy gives you an edge when you plan a ship’s bridge. It does not mean a crew with a synergy bonus always wins, but it is something you want to understand and weigh on every build.

Synergy is a bonus that triggers when your bridge officers come from the same group. It boosts the bridge crew and can sharply raise their captain or officer abilities. You maximize it by seating officers from the same group with complementary classes. The boost depends on how you arrange the classes around your captain:

You get the maximum boost when the captain has two officers next to them whose types differ from the captain’s and from each other, for example Wissenschaft, Command, Engineer. You get a medium boost when the two officers share a type with each other but not with the captain, like Science, Command, Science. You get the smallest boost when the two officers match each other and the captain, like Command, Command, Command.

Officers belong to synergy groups like Unternehmen Crew, Discovery Crew, Section 31, and Unimatrix Twelve, and the game adds more over time. Star Trek Fleet Command best crew setups

Officers usually do their best work on a ship whose main strength matches their ability. Uhura boosts accuracy, which is the explorer’s main offensive stat, so she fits an explorer. The crews below are reliable for the situations most players run into. Crew meta shifts as new officers arrive and as your own officers level, so treat these as strong starting points and adjust to the roster you have. Best crew for Swarm

T’Laan, Cadet Uhura, and Instructor Spock is a dependable Swarm crew while you build up. If you have leveled Pike, Marlena Moreau with Pike and Grace Chen can do better. Newer officers have since improved on these, so check your roster for stronger options as you progress.

Best crew for Vidar and Borg

Moreau, Chen, and T’Laan works for lower-level Borg or when you do not have Pike. For higher-level Borg where battles run longer, swap to Moreau, Pike, and T’Laan.

Morale crew and forever shield

Spock, Kirk, and Bones is the classic morale build, and it still holds up for survivability and armada defense. Kirk keeps morale active, McCoy raises the crew’s defense as the fight goes on, and Spock restores the shield. Remember that shield piercing is why a ship keeps taking hull damage even with the shield near full, so this crew slows damage rather than stopping it.

PvP and high-level hostiles

The setups below are built for PvP and long fights rather than fast hostile grinding.

Best base-cracking crew

Khan as captain with John Harrison and Honorguard Worf is a strong base-cracking crew, stacking mitigation reduction with a heavy first-round damage swing. Use an interceptor or battleship. If you do not have Khan yet, Joachim, Otto, and Kati is an accessible early version of the same job.

Best crew for interceptor

Klingon officers fit interceptors best. Gorkon as captain with two Klingon officers such as Kerla, Koth, or M’Ral gives you a hard-hitting hull-breach crew.

Best crew for battleship

Javaid as captain suits battleships, since he boosts shield piercing and battleship armor. Pair him with Livis and Arix, or swap in John Harrison.

Best crew for explorer

Kirk, Bones, and Spock.

A flexible PvP crew

Kirk and Spock with Khan or Honorguard Worf is a flexible crew that works on any ship and carries from mid-game upward. The best PvP crew for a given fight depends on your ship class, your opponent, and which officers you have leveled, so adjust from this base.

Best crew for hostile grinding

Pike, Moreau, and Chen is the dependable hostile-grinding crew. Swap Chen for T’Laan depending on the hostiles you are clearing.

Crews for mining resources

A few officers boost your mining rate for a specific resource, and you put the matching one in the captain’s seat. For gas, captain T’Pring with Stonn and Barot. For ore, captain Stonn. For crystal, captain Barot. Adding Ten of Ten brings protected cargo, which helps when you mine in hostile systems where you can get blown up. For peaceful mining you can lean toward cargo size over protection.

Officer shards come from packs, faction stores, events, and some mission lines. The exact source depends on the officer, so open their page from the table above to see where to farm them.

How does officer rarity work?

Rarity runs Common, Uncommon, Rare, Episch, and Legendary. A higher rarity raises an officer’s stat ceiling and shard requirements, but rarity alone does not make an officer good. A well-placed Common can outperform an Epic in the right seat.

What is the best crew to start with?

Early on, a morale crew like Kirk, Spock, and Bones gives you a strong all-around explorer setup. After that, build toward the situation you fight most using the crew setups above.
