Ex-Borg research is an endgame branch, unlocked from R&D Department level 28, built around the Borg Cube and a set of all-ship combat boosts. What Ex-Borg research does
There are two halves to the tree. The Borg Cube lines, covering Cube weaponry and the cost and charge efficiency of its Cutting Beam, are essential if you fly the Borg Cube because they make its signature attack cheaper and stronger, and near-useless if you do not. The all-ship lines for energy damage, kinetic damage, mitigation, hull health, and officer stats apply to your whole roster and are the safer, broadly useful investment. If the Cube is a main ship for you, push its lines first. Otherwise start with the all-ship energy and kinetic damage and the mitigation and hull research, which help every fight you take.
Every Ex-Borg research
All 55 research projects, sorted by unlock level (most projects gate on your R&D Department; some use Operations or another building). Cost to max is the full resource total across every level. Research time is the base time before your research-speed bonuses, which cut it heavily in play, so treat it as a relative gauge between projects rather than a real-world clock.
