Tritanium Generators are the station buildings that produce Tritanium, the hardened alloy you spend on nearly every ship you build and upgrade. The family runs from Generator A through Generator H, eight copies of the same building that each unlock at a different Betrieb level. Every generator is identical in what it produces, so the only thing that changes from letter to letter is when you can place it. Each generator you add raises your total Tritanium per hour.
When each Tritanium Generator unlocks
All eight generators upgrade to level 80. The later letters gate behind higher Operations levels, and several also need an earlier generator already placed.
| Variant | Unlocks at | Max level |
|---|---|---|
| Tritanium Generator A | Operations 6 | 80 |
| Tritanium Generator B | Operations 7, Tritanium Generator A placed | 80 |
| Tritanium Generator C | Operations 18, Tritanium Generator A placed | 80 |
| Tritanium Generator D | Operations 28, Tritanium Generator B placed | 80 |
| Tritanium Generator E | Operations 38, Tritanium Generator C placed | 80 |
| Tritanium Generator F | Operations 48, Tritanium Generator D placed | 80 |
| Tritanium Generator G | Operations 50, Tritanium Generator E placed | 80 |
| Tritanium Generator H | Operations 50, Tritanium Generator F placed | 80 |
- Tritanium Generator A unlocks at Operations level 6 and upgrades to level 80.
- Tritanium Generator B unlocks at Operations level 7, once Generator A is placed, and upgrades to level 80.
- Tritanium Generator C unlocks at Operations level 18, once Generator A is placed, and upgrades to level 80.
- Tritanium Generator D unlocks at Operations level 28, once Generator B is placed, and upgrades to level 80.
- Tritanium Generator E unlocks at Operations level 38, once Generator C is placed, and upgrades to level 80.
- Tritanium Generator F unlocks at Operations level 48, once Generator D is placed, and upgrades to level 80.
- Tritanium Generator G unlocks at Operations level 50, once Generator E is placed, and upgrades to level 80.
- Tritanium Generator H unlocks at Operations level 50, once Generator F is placed, and upgrades to level 80.
What Tritanium Generators do
Each generator produces Tritanium, an alloy many times harder than diamond that goes into building and upgrading your ships. Tritanium sits alongside Parsteel and Dilithium as one of the resources you draw on most, and ship hulls in particular lean on it heavily. Upgrading a generator raises both how much Tritanium it makes per hour and how much it can hold before you need to collect. Base production climbs from 15 per hour at level 1 to roughly 19 million per hour at level 60, and storage grows over the same range from 8 up to about 599 million.
Storage sets the ceiling on how much Tritanium a generator Banken between collections. Once a generator reaches its cap, any further production is wasted until you collect, so it pays to keep storage moving up in step with production and to collect regularly at lower levels while the cap is still small. As you push into the higher levels the cap grows large enough that the generator can run untended for long stretches.
From level 61 the generator switches over to Σ-Tritanium, the higher-tier version of the resource. Σ-Tritanium production starts at 3 per hour at level 61 and reaches 3,580 per hour at level 80, with Σ storage running from 90 up to about 83,995 across the same levels. The base Tritanium figures read as zero past level 60 in the Daten because the building has moved to producing the Sigma resource, not because it stops working.
Generators A and B carry one extra benefit the other six do not: a Shield Health Bonus that raises shield health for all your ships. It runs from 1% at level 1 to 1,000% at level 80 and becomes available once you reach Syndicate level 33. Generators C through H produce Tritanium only.
Upgrade costs and build times
The variants share the same output values, and their upgrade costs and build times are close but not identical level for level. The milestones below come from Generator A as the representative case; expect the other letters to differ by small amounts at some levels. All values are current as of the latest game data.
| Ebene | Kosten | Build time | Requires |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 300 Parsteel | 30s | Operations 6 |
| 10 | 6.000 Parsteel | 32m | Operations 10 |
| 20 | 144,500 Parsteel, 850 Dilithium | 9h 16m | Operations 20 |
| 30 | 13.26M Parsteel, 78,000 Dilithium | 23h 36m | Operations 30 |
| 40 | 2.866B Parsteel, 6.02M Dilithium, 2,500 4★ Common Refined Erze | 16d 3h | Operations 40 |
| 50 | 125B Parsteel, 367.5M Dilithium | 276d 16h | Operations 50 |
| 60 | 40.19T Parsteel, 49.25B Dilithium, 129,500 5★ Common Refined Ore, 27,300 5★ Ungewöhnlich Raffiniertes Erz | 582d 23h | Operations 60 |
| 70 | 26.97M Σ-Parsteel, 158,650 Σ-Dilithium, 469,800 6★ Common Refined Gas, 108,000 6★ Uncommon Refined Ore | 153d 18h | Operations 70 |
| 80 | 13.17B Σ-Parsteel, 19.36M Σ-Dilithium, 6.714M 7★ Common Refined Gas, 984,860 7★ Uncommon Refined Ore | 3711d 13h | Operations 80 |
Taking one generator from level 1 to level 80 costs about 154.4T Parsteel and 197.2B Dilithium, plus large amounts of refined ore and gas at 4★ through 7★ and Sigma-tier Parsteel and Dilithium at the top end. The cumulative build time for a full run is roughly 20,916 days unboosted, so speedups, boosts, and build-cost reductions do most of the real work at high levels.
How Tritanium Generators fit your station
The early generators are the ones you actually place first. A and B come cheap and fast at low Operations levels, and they also give you the Shield Health Bonus, which makes them the two to prioritize if you care about combat survivability. C through F arrive as your Operations level climbs into the teens and forties, and the last two, G and H, both open at Operations 50.
The generators also unlock in a chain rather than all at once. B, C, and their successors each need an earlier generator already on your station: D waits on B, E on C, F on D, and G and H depend on E and F. In practice you place them in roughly alphabetical order as your Operations level allows, so the chain rarely holds you up, but it does mean you cannot jump straight to the later letters without the earlier ones in place.
Because every generator produces the same amount at a given level, your total Tritanium income comes down to how many you have placed and how high you have pushed each one. Adding a new letter as soon as it unlocks is usually worth it, since Tritanium feeds constant ship construction and upgrades. Past level 60 the generators move onto Σ-Tritanium, which matters mainly for late-game station and ship costs that call for the Sigma resource.
Watch the build times more than the resource costs at the top of the tree. A single level in the 70s or 80s can run into hundreds or thousands of days unboosted, so plan those upgrades around your speedup inventory and any active build-time events rather than starting them cold.
Are Tritanium Generators worth upgrading?
Yes, within reason. Tritanium is a core building material, so keeping your generators leveled with your Operations progress pays for itself in steadier ship output. The two lettered generators that carry the Shield Health Bonus, A and B, earn extra attention for the shield boost alone. The very high levels ask for Sigma resources and enormous build times, so push those with events and speedups rather than treating them as routine upgrades.
