It Came From Deep Space Arc

The It Came From Deep Space Arc is a 75-mission storyline in Star Trek Fleet Command that starts with a strange signal from deep space and turns into a three-way struggle between the Federation, the Klingons and the Romulans. None of its missions carry a level recommendation, so the table has no level column, and every mission needs warp 12 to 22 to complete. Most missions pay faction credits and reputation for one side at a cost with the others, and the arc also pays Kerla shards, Common Plutonium, 4★ Raw Gas and plenty of recruit tokens.

How the It Came From Deep Space Arc works

The arc opens with It Came From Deep Space, a fight-free mission where you trace the signal through two neutral systems and hand an informant 2,500 Dilithium. Warp 12 covers it, and the same warp covers the next big step: First Blood, For the Glory of Romulus and To Seek Out New Life Forms each end with you choosing to side with the Federation, the Klingons or the Romulans. Their rows list the rewards for more than one side, because what you collect depends on the side you pick.

From there the arc is a long run of single missions, with no multi-part chains. Roughly 20 missions push each faction’s standing. Each pays credits and reputation points for its faction and takes points away from one or both of the others, which is why so many rows in the table show negative Federation, Klingon or Romulan Points. Honor and Blood, Peace In Our Time and To Serve the Empire are the one-step report missions for the Klingon, Federation and Romulan sides, each at warp 13. Check the reputation swing before you accept a mission if you care about standing with a particular faction.

Warp climbs gently. About a third of the missions finish at warp 12 or 13, most of the rest at warp 15 to 19, and only a handful need warp 20 to 22.

It Came From Deep Space Arc rewards worth chasing

For the Empire is the only officer shard mission in the arc: it pays 3 Kerla shards and 43,000 Officer XP for two fights against small Suliban ships at warp 13.

The largest reputation payouts are 3,100 points, from On All Sides and Reparations for the Federation, Common Enemy and Up in Flames for the Klingons, and Chaos and Consequence for the Romulans. Common Enemy also lists 600 Ultra Recruit Tokens and 250 Klingon Recruit Tokens, and Chaos and Consequence adds 500 Romulan Recruit Tokens. On All Sides is also the only mission in the arc that pays 3★ Rare Refined Gas.

Common Plutonium comes from Interception, The First Flight and Up in Flames, all on the Klingon side. Silver Coins pays 180 each of 3★ Explorer, Battleship and Interceptor Parts. For Officer XP, Stirrings of Life pays 101,000 and A Performance for the Ages pays 95,000, and neither touches your faction standing.
