Sink Into Shadow

Sink Into Shadow is a Romulan story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you stop a Starfleet investigation in its tracks. The game lists a recommended level of 1; it starts at warp 1 and needs warp 17 to complete. There is one fight, disabling the investigator’s vessel at roughly 44,970 power in Maclyyn. The reward is 24,000 Tritanium, 60 3★ Explorer Parts and a small Romulan reputation gain, and finishing it unlocks Bait and Switch.

Sink Into Shadow objectives

There are four objectives and no choice split:

  • Find the Starfleet investigators in K’amia. Location: K’amia.
  • Follow the warp trail to Maclyyn. Location: Maclyyn.
  • Disable the investigator’s vessel. Location: Maclyyn. Enemy strength is roughly 44,970.
  • Bring the prisoner to Draken I. Location: Draken.

You pick up the investigators’ trail in K’amia and follow it to Maclyyn, where you disable their ship. The last step takes your prisoner to Draken I.

Where and what warp

Sink Into Shadow is available from warp 1 and needs warp 17 to complete. The route runs K’amia, Maclyyn, then Draken.

The recommended level is listed as 1. The investigator’s vessel at about 44,970 is the single fight, and it is the number to check your ship against.

How it fits the storyline

The reputation rewards grow along the way. Allegiances pays 25 Romulan Credits and 250 Romulan Points, while Sink Into Shadow and Bait and Switch pay 80 credits and 800 points each. The Federation loss stays small throughout, 114 points in Allegiances and 442 in each of the later two.

Draken, where this mission ends, is also where Valdore Outpost sits in The Law Falls Silent, another warp 17 Romulan mission.

Tips

Disable, do not rush. The investigator’s vessel is the only combat, so make sure your ship is healthy before you reach Maclyyn.

Save the 3★ Explorer Parts if you are working on an explorer. Other missions sorted by level are on the mission guide.
