Trellium-A & Trellium-D

Trellium is the Mirror Universe resource in Star Trek Fleet Command, and it comes in three raw forms. Raw Trellium-A is mined in 10 Mirror systems from level 40 to 50, and Raw Trellium-D in 12 Mirror systems from level 47 to 65. Raw Omega-Trellium is not mined at all: it drops only from Omega (Ω) Mirror Universe hostiles, which spawn in 14 Mirror systems from level 40 (Mirror Orion and Mirror Rigel) up to level 68 (Mirror Klatu Nebula). All three are refined in the Mirror refinery, which opens at Operations 40.

Raw Omega-Trellium locations (Omega Mirror space)

The game describes Raw Omega-Trellium as a reward for defeating Omega Mirror Universe hostiles in Omega Mirror space. In practice that means the Ω versions of the three Mirror factions: Imperial Starfleet Ω ships, Alliance Ω ships (Bird-of-Prey, Galor-class, Recon and Warbird) and Romulan Republic Ω ships such as the Romulan Republic Ω-Sentry. There are no Raw Omega-Trellium mines, so a survey ship parked on a node will never pick it up. You need a combat ship that can kill Ω hostiles at the level of the system.

The table lists every system with an Ω hostile, easiest first, and the fixed amount of Raw Omega-Trellium each kill pays. The amount climbs steeply: a level 40 kill in Mirror Orion pays 12, a level 60 kill in Mirror Xindus pays 5,000, and the level 70 Ω ships in Mirror Klatu Nebula pay 18,300.

System System level Warp Ω hostiles Hostile level Raw Omega-Trellium per kill Notes
Mirror Orion 40 75 Imperial Starfleet Ω ships 40 12 Hazard level 10
Mirror Rigel 40 75 Imperial Starfleet Ω ships 40 12 Extract system; Hazard level 10
Mirror Deneva 45 75 Imperial Starfleet Ω ships 45 15 Hazard level 10
Mirror Tellun 45 75 Imperial Starfleet Ω ships 45 15 Extract system; Hazard level 10
Mirror Yridia 48 120 Alliance Ω ships 48 30 Hazard level 10
Mirror Maluria 48 125 Romulan Republic Ω ships 48 30 Extract system; Hazard level 10
Mirror Cita Laga 50 200 Imperial Starfleet Ω ships 51 250 Hazard level 10
Mirror Dhi’Ban 50 200 Alliance Ω ships 50 210 Hazard level 10
Mirror Suliban 55 200 Imperial Starfleet Ω ships 55 440 Extract system; Hazard level 10
Mirror Kar 55 230 Imperial Starfleet Ω ships 55 440 Hazard level 10
Mirror Breen 58 230 Alliance Ω ships 58 770 Hazard level 10
Mirror Xindus 60 700 Alliance Ω ships 60 5,000 Hazard level 10
Mirror Tholus 65 700 Imperial Starfleet Ω ships 65 9,000 Hazard level 10
Mirror Klatu Nebula 68 700 Alliance Ω ships 68/70 12,600 / 18,300 Extract system; Hazard level 10

Every one of these systems carries a level 10 hazard, so check your ship’s hazard mitigation before you commit. The NSEA Protector is immune to the Magnetic Minefield hazard in Mirror Universe space and deals bonus damage to Mirror Universe hostiles, which is why it is the standard ship for Omega runs.

Raw Omega-Trellium refines into Liquid Omega-Trellium, and the same Mirror refinery pays Omega Mirror Dust, which upgrades the Ω research in the Mirror research tree. Both refinery options are only available once you own the NSEA Protector.

Why you need trellium

Raw Trellium-A and Raw Trellium-D both refine into Liquid Trellium-D in the Mirror refinery. Liquid Trellium-D is then spent on claims in that same refinery. The Mirror refinery is also where the rest of the Mirror loop comes from: Common, Uncommon, Rare and Epic Mirror Dust for the Mirror research tree, Common and Uncommon Rift Keys for travel between Mirror systems, and the Mirror Vouchers that send your ships into Mirror space in the first place. The full tree is covered in the Mirror research guide.

Two Mirror currencies do not come from trellium. Premium Mirror Dust is bought in the store and upgrades the Special research in the Mirror research tree, and Premium Rift Keys are also a store item, used to reach special Mirror systems. Beryllium Spheres upgrade the components of the NSEA Protector.

Getting into the Mirror Universe

Trellium only exists on the other side, so the entry rules are half the guide (the Mirror Universe page covers the region in full). You need Operations 40, the level at which the Mirror refinery unlocks. Each trip into Mirror space costs Mirror Vouchers, which you claim from that refinery, and moving between Mirror systems costs Rift Keys. Entry happens through the Interphasic Rifts in Mirror Alpha Centauri, Mirror Wolf and Mirror Sirius.

Your ship only gets a limited stay per trip. District 56, the Mirror Universe building that unlocks at Operations 40, raises the base time a ship can stay in the Mirror Universe by 5% at level 1, rising to 50% from level 40. Every 5 levels of District 56 also resets and improves its free claim in the Mirror refinery, so it is worth building early.

The rule that costs players the most: there is no protected cargo in the Mirror Universe. Everything your miner is carrying is up for grabs if you are hit. Mine actively, empty your hold often, and treat every trip as a timed run rather than an overnight park.

How to get trellium

  • Mining. Raw Trellium-A and Raw Trellium-D mines sit in the systems listed below. The higher-level nodes hold more and mine faster.
  • Mirror Universe hostiles. Alliance, Imperial Starfleet and Romulan Republic ships in Mirror space drop raw Trellium-A, and many also drop Trellium-D. The regular ships pay small amounts at levels 40 to 50 (5 to 25 per kill), climbing past 1,000 per kill in the level 68 and 70 systems. The I.S.S. Enterprise-E hostile pays far more per kill: 1,000 Trellium-A at level 50 and 20,000 at level 60. See Mirror Universe hostiles for the full list.
  • Ω hostiles. The only way to get Raw Omega-Trellium, covered above.
  • Mirror Wave Defense. Taking part in Mirror Wave Defense also pays Liquid Trellium-D directly.

Trellium mining locations

Trellium-A sits in the shallower half of the Mirror Universe and Trellium-D runs deeper. Both tables are sorted easiest first, by system level and then warp. Systems with a level 10 hazard damage ships without enough hazard mitigation, and Extract systems are marked in the notes. The Trellium-A nodes in Mirror K’amia, Khitomer, Yadow and Dhi’Ban are the rich ones: 5M per node and about twice the mining rate of the 3M nodes.

Raw Trellium-A systems

Raw Trellium-D systems

Trellium-D nodes are smaller than Trellium-A nodes and mine at a third of the rate. The five systems at 2.5M (Mirror Belak, Beta Paldorios, Vendor, Xindus and Tholus) are the better ones, at more than twice the rate of the 1.5M nodes.

Mirror Orion, Deneva, Yridia, Dhi’Ban, Cita Laga, Kar, Xindus and Tholus appear in both a mining table and the Ω hostile table, so a mixed fleet can mine trellium and hunt Raw Omega-Trellium in the same system.

Best ship for trellium

The NSEA Protector is the trellium ship. It is an Epic Grade 4 Explorer that needs 200 blueprints and Shipyard level 40, and it carries two abilities built for Mirror space. Trellium Chompers raises its mining rate of raw trellium by 540,000% at ship level 1, rising to 12,000,000% at level 75, and makes it immune to the Magnetic Minefield hazard in Mirror Universe space. Quantum Flux raises its damage against Mirror Universe hostiles by 5,000% at level 1, rising to 300,000% at level 75, which is what lets it clear the Ω hostiles for Raw Omega-Trellium.

Owning the Protector also opens the Liquid Omega-Trellium and Omega Mirror Dust options in the Mirror refinery. Officers from its crew, like Laliari, who cuts the cooldown of the Protector’s Omega-13 ability, are built around it. Before you have the Protector, any strong survey ship can work raw Trellium-A and D nodes; you are simply slower and more exposed to hazards.

Trellium FAQ

Where do I mine Raw Omega-Trellium?
Nowhere. Raw Omega-Trellium is not a mining resource. It drops from Ω hostiles in the 14 Mirror systems listed at the top of this page, from 12 per kill at level 40 to 18,300 per kill at level 70.

What is Omega Mirror space?
It is the part of the Mirror Universe where the Ω hostiles spawn: the 14 systems in the Omega table, from Mirror Orion and Mirror Rigel at level 40 to Mirror Klatu Nebula at level 68. All of them have a level 10 hazard.

What is the difference between Trellium-A and Trellium-D?
They are separate raw resources from separate mines. Trellium-A comes from ordinary Trellium mines, Trellium-D from the special mines in deeper Mirror space. Both refine into Liquid Trellium-D.

Can I mine trellium without the NSEA Protector?
Yes. Any survey ship can work raw Trellium-A and D mines once you can enter the Mirror Universe. The Protector mines far faster, ignores the Magnetic Minefield hazard, and is the only way to open the Omega refinery options.

What is Premium Mirror Dust for?
It is bought in the store and upgrades the Special research in the Mirror research tree. It does not come from refining trellium.

Why did I lose my entire cargo?
The Mirror Universe has no protected cargo. Whatever you are carrying when destroyed is gone. Empty your hold often and do not linger past your timer’s comfort zone.

How do I get more time per trip?
Upgrade District 56. Its Mirror Universe Duration bonus climbs from 5% at level 1 to 50% at level 40.
