Faction Favors research covers the hull-plating upgrades you unlock for Federation, Romulan, and Klingon faction ships. Unlike the rest of the research tree, these are not bought with parsteel or tritanium: you pay for them with faction favors earned through reputation and events, which is why the cost column is not shown here. This page lists every faction-favors research across all three factions with what it does, the faction it belongs to, the number of levels, the research time, and prerequisites.
What Faction Favors research does
Each node adds base hull plating, which is extra survivability, to one specific faction ship, such as the U.S.S. Kelvin and Enterprise for Federation, the Valdore and D’deridex for Romulan, or the K’T’inga and Vor’Cha for Klingon. Because the buff is ship-specific and paid in favors rather than resources, prioritize the ships you actually fly. If a hull is a main combat or armada ship for you, its plating research is a cheap, favor-funded durability boost worth taking early. Ships you have retired can wait. Spend favors where your fleet spends its time.

All 27 favors research projects across the Federation, Romulan, and Klingon trees, grouped by faction and sorted by the Operations level that unlocks them. Research time is the base time before your research-speed bonuses, so treat it as a relative gauge rather than a real-world clock.
