Vulnerability is a short Federation-space story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command in which you test a gas by releasing it in different environments. It starts at warp 1 and needs warp 13 to complete, with stops in Araiza, Labac and Lorillia. There is no fight, but one step asks you to release 1,000 Dilithium. The reward is 1,700 2★ Common Refined Gas and 12 2★ Uncommon Refined Gas, and finishing it unlocks the next mission, Deniability.

Vulnerability objectives

The story line reads: test the makeup of the gas by releasing it in various environments. There are four objectives and no choice split:

  • Test the gas on a low oxygen environment in Araiza. Location: Araiza.
  • Test the gas in a remote region of Niwukin. Location: Labac.
  • Release 1,000 Dilithium to the planet.
  • Return the sample to Starbase 82. Location: Lorillia.

The first two steps are tests at two different sites. The Dilithium release follows the Niwukin test, and the mission ends with a delivery to Starbase 82 in Lorillia.

Where and what warp

The mission starts at warp 1 and needs warp 13 to complete. Araiza, Labac and Lorillia are all within that range.

The game lists a recommended level of 1. With no hostile to beat, the only costs are the warp 13 range and 1,000 Dilithium.

Vulnerability rewards

Reward Amount
2★ Common Refined Gas 1,700
2★ Uncommon Refined Gas 12

Completing the mission also unlocks Deniability.

Where it sits in the story

Mission Warp to complete Rewards
Pathogen 13 75 Premium Recruit Tokens, 43,000 Officer XP, 25 Federation Credits, 250 Federation Points
Vulnerability 13 1,700 2★ Common Refined Gas, 12 2★ Uncommon Refined Gas
Deniability 13 60,000 Parsteel, 10 1 Hour Speed Ups, 35 Federation Credits, 400 Federation Points

All three stay at warp 13. Pathogen and Deniability pay Federation reputation, while Vulnerability is the refined gas step in the middle, with no faction points at all.

Tips

Have 1,000 Dilithium on hand before you reach Labac. The release step follows right after the Niwukin test, and running short there is the only thing likely to hold you up.

Any ship with warp 13 can do this, since there is nothing to fight. A survey ship or spare explorer keeps your combat ship free.

The refined gas is useful for early ship and research upgrades that call for 2★ materials. Run Pathogen, Vulnerability and Deniability together, since they share the same warp range. Other missions by level are on the mission guide.
