Parentage is a story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command in which you travel with Luis and the Mayflower to other gas giants to work out what a mysterious gas is made of. It has five objectives across three systems, with one fight against a Corvallen Pirate at roughly 23,149 strength. The game lists a recommended level of 1 and the mission needs warp 17 to finish. The reward mixes Tritanium, repair speed ups and Federation reputation, at a small cost in Klingon reputation.

Parentage objectives

There are five objectives and no choice split:

  • Meet the Mayflower in Vulcan. Location: Vulcan.
  • Investigate the gas dwarf in Kepler-018. Location: Kepler-018.
  • Defeat the Corvallen Pirate. Location: Rator. Enemy strength is roughly 23,149.
  • Scan the lab on Wonax. Location: Kepler-018.
  • Return the data to your Station.

The route runs from Vulcan, a level 23 Federation system, to Kepler-018, a level 20 neutral system, then out to Rator, a level 29 Romulan system, for the only fight. After the pirate goes down you head back to Kepler-018 to scan the lab on Wonax, and the last step takes the data home.

Where and what warp

The mission can be picked up at warp 1 and needs warp 17 to complete. It crosses three systems and returns to Kepler-018 once, so expect more travel than fighting.

The recommended level is listed as 1. The Corvallen Pirate is the one step that tests your ship, and at about 23,149 strength it is a modest fight.

Parentage rewards

Reward Amount
Tritanium 7,000
5 Minute Repair Speed Up 18
Federation Credits 25
Federation Points 250
Klingon Points -171

Completing it unlocks the next mission, Pathogen.

How it follows Voyages

Parentage comes after Voyages, in which you investigate the Bos Vehna planet. Current game data for the two:

Mission Warp to complete Fight Rewards
Voyages 15 Nausicaan Thug in Sorenle, about 17,801 6 2★ Uncommon Refined Gas, 3,200 Dilithium
Parentage 17 Corvallen Pirate in Rator, about 23,149 7,000 Tritanium, 18 5 Minute Repair Speed Ups, Federation Credits and Points

Parentage needs slightly more warp and has a slightly tougher fight. Voyages also asks you to give 5,000 Tritanium to repair an outpost, and Parentage pays back more than that.

Tips

Mind the reputation swing. The mission adds 250 Federation Points and removes 171 Klingon Points. If you are building Klingon standing, factor that loss in before you accept.

Bring a combat ship, even though most of the mission is travel. At about 23,149 strength the Corvallen Pirate is a fair fight for a crewed combat hull, and a poor match for a survey ship.

Save the repair speed ups. Eighteen 5 Minute Repair Speed Ups add up to an hour and a half of repairs, handy after a run of hostile fights. Other missions sorted by level are on the mission guide.
