Artifact research is a utility branch where each node is a unique Artifact that grants one specific buff, from mining rate to PvP defense to faster scrapping. Because the effects are so varied, this is a pick-what-fits tree rather than one you complete in order. This page lists every artifact research with what it does, the Operations level it unlocks at, the number of levels, the cost to max, the research time, and prerequisites.
What Artifact research does
Sort the artifacts by what you actually do. Miners want the Survey-ship yield artifacts for gas, ore, and crystal mining rate, plus anything that speeds refining or scrapping, like the Phoenix Thruster. PvP players want the defensive artifacts, such as the Cephalocasque for Isolytic Defense and Emperor Georgiou’s Crown for Apex Barrier against players. Base builders benefit from construction-speed artifacts like the Kurlan Naiskos, and a few, like the Crash-n-Burn Jukebox, boost loot from specific hostile types. Many artifacts come from events or premium unlocks, so your real choice is which of the ones you own to level first: match them to your main activity and leave the rest until you need them.
Every Artifact research
All 111 research projects, sorted by unlock level (most projects gate on your R&D Department; some use Operations or another building). Cost to max is the full resource total across every level. Research time is the base time before your research-speed bonuses, which cut it heavily in play, so treat it as a relative gauge between projects rather than a real-world clock.
