Hostiles are the enemy ships and stations you attack for rewards in Star Trek Fleet Command, and more than 350 different hostiles have fixed spawn systems on the map, from level 15 Swarm ships to level 81 armada stations. This guide explains how hostile combat works, then sends you to the right hub: Klingon, Federation, Mirror Universe and Borg hostiles, the armada guides, and single-hostile guides for popular targets. Each hub lists its hostiles with levels, warp, hull and drops.
STFC hostile hubs by faction
Start with the faction whose space you are grinding. The level and warp ranges cover every hostile in that family with a fixed system.
| Hub | Levels | Warp | What they drop |
|---|---|---|---|
| Klingon hostiles | 20–81 | 13–6000 | Broken parts, Federation and Romulan reputation, Armada Credits |
| Federation hostiles | 20–81 | 13–6000 | Broken parts, Klingon and Romulan reputation, Armada Credits |
| Mirror Universe hostiles | 35–70 | 50–800 | Raw Trellium and Raw Omega-Trellium |
| Borg hostiles | 25–81 | 18–6000 | Nanoprobes, Broken parts, Borg armada rewards |
Romulan hostiles cover the same level 20 to 81 spread as the Klingon and Federation families and drop Broken parts plus Federation and Klingon reputation. A Romulan hub is on the way; until then, the Romulan faction page covers what Romulan standing gets you.
Armada guides
Some targets are armadas rather than normal ship kills. These guides list every armada location with its level, warp and reward.
| Guide | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Solo armadas | Dominion Jem’Hadar Flagships (level 35 to 60), G6 stations, Solo Outposts and every other target you run with your own ships |
| Borg solo armadas | Borg Sphere systems by warp, Conqueror Borg and Borg Type 03 locations, crews |
| Borg armadas | Borg Cube, Tactical, Assimilator and Mega Cube group armadas, Borg Polygons |
| Borg Expansion Cube | The six cube systems, Vinculum Fragments, Foreknowledge |
| Swarm armadas | Swarm Horde systems at level 40, 44 and 48, plus Swarm hostile locations |
| Formation armadas | Standard, Rare and Krenim formation systems for twelve-player fights |
Popular single-hostile guides
A few hostiles get so many searches that they have their own location guides:
- Separatist: level 17 to 26 in nine systems at warp 15 to 16, with a boss that pays Tritanium.
- Actian Chrysalis: level 33 to 49 across seventeen Actian systems, the main source of Actian Venom.
- Freebooter: level 38 to 60 in eight systems, in all three hulls, dropping Broken parts for the hull you beat.
How hostile combat works
Hostile combat runs on a rock-paper-scissors between hull types. Interceptors beat Battleships, Battleships beat Explorers, and Explorers beat Interceptors, while Survey ships have no combat role and are hit with whatever warship you have. Most hostiles fly a single hull, so you bring the class that counters it. Some appear as several hulls, which lets you attack the version your strongest ship already beats. Armadas and stations sit outside the triangle: you bring an armada or a solo armada fleet instead of one counter ship.
Level and warp decide what you can reach. Every hostile spawns in fixed systems at a set level, and each system needs a minimum warp range, so the warp column in each hub is often the real gate. Early hostiles sit at warp 13 to 50, the level 50 to 60 targets need a few hundred warp, and the level 70 to 80 targets reach warp 6,000.
Many higher-level hostiles carry ship abilities that change the fight. Klingon ships boost their piercing for the first five rounds, Federation ships recover shields early, Mirror Universe ships hull-breach you for the whole fight, and the Conqueror Borg destroy any ship that is not a Borg Sphere. Each hub explains the abilities you will meet in that faction.
What hostiles drop
What a hostile drops depends on its faction and type. The three core factions pay Broken ship parts (4★ to 7★ as levels climb) and shift your reputation: you lose standing with the faction you attack and gain it with the other two, which is how you work toward a faction reputation lock. Arc and event hostiles pay their own materials, such as Trellium in the Mirror Universe, Actian Venom in Actian space and Frequency Modulators from the Swarm. Armada targets pay Armada Credits or their own solo armada credits.
Crew for hostiles
For most hostiles you want a captain that raises damage against hostiles plus officers that add damage or survivability. Some targets change that: the Elite Assassins only accept ships from the two other core factions, and several endgame hostiles reward Isolytic defense over raw damage. Because the best picks change with the meta and your roster, the officer tier list keeps current recommendations for each role.
Other hostiles across the galaxy
Beyond the main factions, the galaxy is full of smaller groups. In neutral space you meet species like the Suliban, Nausicaan, Orion and Corvallen, which give a straightforward grind without a reputation cost. Deeper regions add the Dominion, Cardassian, Breen and Swarm, along with event enemies. Many of these have their own guides, and more get pages as the wiki fills in. When you are hunting a specific target, the hubs above are the fastest way to find its level, warp and drops.
