The Kos’Karii is a grade 6 Rare Klingon Explorer that unlocks at Shipyard level 66. Its always-on True Aim ability pours accuracy into every fight against hostiles, and its refit-unlocked cloak and Attack Pattern Alpha-1 raise its damage well past a normal survey hull. This is a dedicated hostile-hunting Explorer for players deep in Klingon territory, not a miner. If you grind hostiles at grade 6, it earns its berth.

How to get the Kos’Karii

The Kos’Karii is built, not bought outright. You need 350 blueprints and a Shipyard at level 66 to start the build. The build cost is 620 Σ-Dilithium, 74,400 Σ-Tritanium, 2,400 6★ Common Refined Gas, and 520 6★ Common Refined Ore, and the build takes 22 days. The game data lists the requirement and cost but not where the blueprints come from, so plan your blueprint hunt around whatever events or stores are offering them when you go for the ship.

Kos’Karii ability

The ship ability is True Aim. On combat start it raises the Kos’Karii’s base Accuracy against hostiles by 1,000% at ship level 1, climbing to 1,500% at level 90. Ship abilities are always active, so this triggers on its own every time you open fire on a hostile. High accuracy means more of your shots land clean and fewer glance off, which is exactly what an Explorer wants when it is built to farm hostiles for loot rather than trade blows with other players.

Kos’Karii active abilities

Beyond the always-on ability, the Kos’Karii has three player-triggered abilities that you unlock through refits. You fire them yourself in the moment rather than leaving them to run in the background.

  • Ship Cloaking: your ship becomes cloaked. The cloak ends when its duration runs out, or when you enter combat, begin mining, or dock at a station. It is a positioning tool for slipping past threats.
  • Attack Pattern Alpha-1: increases base damage against hostiles and armadas, scaling with tier from 2,000% at Tier 9 up to 3,000% at Tier 18. This is the burst button when you want to clear a tough hostile faster.
  • Field Repairs: used out of combat while undocked, it instantly restores 25% of the ship’s hull health. It saves a trip back to a station between grinding runs.

Stats and tiers

The figures below are base values from the current game data; research, buffs, and officers raise them in play. The Kos’Karii tops out at Tier 18.

Tier Warp (speed / range) Impulse Cargo (protected) Shield HP Hull HP Health (displayed)
Tier 1 7.7 / 1,275 100 25,000 (1,250) 16,080,048 14,422,697 15,251,372.5
Tier 9 8.5 / 1,435 100 40,000 (1,920) 33,587,335 30,187,618 31,887,476.5
Tier 18 9.4 / 1,640 100 68,000 (3,230) 75,046,099 67,461,576 71,253,837.5

Health (displayed) is the shield and hull average the game shows on the ship card.

Weapons and firing pattern

Warm-up is the combat round a weapon first fires; cool-down is how many rounds pass between shots after that. Values shown are at max Tier 18.

Weapon Type Shots Warm-up Cool-down Damage Crit chance Crit damage
Weapon 1 Energy 2 1 2 1,293,976–1,552,874 10% 150%
Weapon 2 Energy 2 1 2 1,293,976–1,552,874 10% 150%
Weapon 3 Kinetic 2 1 3 5,823,237–6,987,868 10% 150%

Weapon 3 is the kinetic main gun and carries by far the heaviest hit, though it fires on a slower cool-down than the two energy weapons.

Kos’Karii refits

Refits unlock the ship’s extra abilities and stat boosts for a cost in ship shards. Numbers below are stated as the in-game refit descriptions give them.

Refit What it does
Kos’Karii Gold Refit Increases the Kos’Karii’s base accuracy against hostiles by 250%. Costs 80 shards.
Attack Pattern Alpha-1 Unlocks the Attack Pattern Alpha-1 active ability. Requires a Tier 9 Kos’Karii and 80 shards.
Cloaking Enables cloaking for the Kos’Karii and increases base weapon damage by 600%. Costs 80 shards.
Field Repairs Unlocks the Field Repairs active ability, which instantly repairs 25% of the ship’s hull health out of combat while undocked. Costs 120 shards.
Hijacked TOS Kos’Karii Class Unlocks the Hijacked refit, raising base weapon damage by 1,600% and the cost efficiency of Kos’Karii parts, materials, and resources by 300%. Costs 120 shards.

The ship also has a ship-specific research project, Attack Pattern Alpha-1 (Kos’Karii), that improves the unlocked ability further as you invest in it.

Crew for the Kos’Karii

Crew the Kos’Karii for its job: killing hostiles. Because the ship’s own ability pushes accuracy, the bridge should stack what accuracy cannot give you on its own, mainly raw weapon damage and critical hits, with a captain who rewards the way you fight hostiles. Officers that boost damage against hostiles or improve critical-hit rate and critical damage pair well with True Aim, since landing more shots matters most when each shot hits harder.

Crews shift as the game updates, so treat any single pick as a starting point rather than the final word. For current recommendations, see the Officer Tier List and match the top damage-and-crit officers to your roster.

The Kos’Karii in Star Trek

The Kos’Karii is a game-original Klingon design with no screen canon, so its story comes from Star Trek Fleet Command itself. In the game’s lore it began as the Bortas-class Kor’Thau, which lost most of its aft hull and neck breaking an enemy line at the Battle of Kaisu to rescue a trapped sister ship. With no resources to spare, the crew braced the ruined neck with dilithium pylons, leaving a thin, spiked silhouette. Rather than repair the look, the captain embraced it and renamed the ship Kos’Karii, after the wraith-like eels of Klingon myth, dedicating the vessel to rescuing and moving wounded allies.

Is the Kos’Karii worth it?

For a grade 6 Rare Explorer, the Kos’Karii is a focused hostile grinder rather than an all-rounder. True Aim plus the cloak and Attack Pattern Alpha-1 refits make it hit reliably and hit hard against hostiles and armadas, and its kinetic main gun gives it real punch for its tier. If you are playing in Klingon space and want an Explorer that farms hostiles efficiently at grade 6, it is worth the 350 blueprints. Miners and pure PvP players will get more from other hulls.
