Tranquility Ruse is a level 62 Federation mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. Circle Leader Mal’zog’na of the Azinjen asks for an escort into newly claimed Romulan space, and it turns out he is testing space-folding quantum propulsion there. You pick it up in Sigrun, need warp 1,000 to start and warp 1,100 to finish, and decide at the end whether to report the Azinjen or keep their secret. Both paths pay 3,600 Federation Credits and 165,000 of a raw Σ resource.
Tranquility Ruse objectives
The first three objectives are the same for everyone:
- Follow the Azinjen Hauler. Location: Tir Morta.
- Save the Azinjen from the Corvallen. Location: Tir Morta (enemy strength about 2,632,999,787).
- Shadow the Azinjen vessel. Location: Ja’lana.
- How will you deal with the Azinjen secret?
The Azinjen probe draws a Corvallen ship, and Maia explains that the Corvallen enforce Romulan rule for the Tal Shiar. After the rescue, Mal’zog’na says he is heading home, but his ship goes deeper into Romulan space instead. When you catch up in Ja’lana, he shows you readings of a quantum resonance he hopes will make the Azinjen a power in this galaxy, even though Starfleet, Romulus and Kronos have all condemned that kind of propulsion. That is where the choice comes in.
Report it to Starfleet Command
- Visit Starbase 5. Location: Alpha Centauri.
Maia tells Mal’zog’na the findings must be reported, and you make the report in person to Admiral O’Connor, who compares the research to an earlier attempt by Khan in the Vaara Expanse and promises swift action.

Support the Azinjen by keeping it quiet
- Meet with Ahvix in the Stateside system. Location: Stateside.
You let the experiments continue in the name of science, then quietly warn Ahvix of the Azinjen Segment Assembly, who agrees to try to talk the Azinjen leadership out of it.

The mission is picked up in Sigrun. It needs warp 1,000 to start and warp 1,100 to complete. The ending depends on your choice: Alpha Centauri on the Starfleet path, Stateside on the Azinjen path. The shared steps run through Tir Morta and Ja’lana. The recommended level is 62.

Sigrun is the pickup for several Federation missions with the same credits and faction points. Tranquility Ruse is the only one of them that needs warp 1,100 and the only one with a choice:

Tips
Pick the path by the resource you need. Reporting to Starfleet pays the refined Σ-Tritanium and Raw Σ-Parsteel; keeping quiet pays Σ-Parsteel and Raw Σ-Tritanium. Credits and faction reputation are identical either way, so the story choice costs nothing in standing. See Tritanium and Parsteel for the base resources.
The Corvallen fight in Tir Morta, at about 2.6 billion strength, is the only combat, and it comes early. After it the mission is travel and conversation.
The Federation gain is large, but the Klingon loss is more than twice as big, so expect your Klingon standing to drop if you run a lot of these. Other missions by level are on the mission guide.
