The B’Rel is a grade 3 Rare Klingon Explorer that unlocks at Shipyard level 32. It is a small, lightly armed scout built for short-range work rather than heavy fighting. Its Obfuscation ability blunts an enemy’s piercing and accuracy in the opening round of a hostile fight, and it can run a cloak. Treat it as an early utility explorer and a later scrap feeder, not a front-line warship.

How to get the B’Rel

The B’Rel needs 120 blueprints and a Shipyard at level 32 before you can build it. Its blueprints have been sold through the in-game store for credits, so this is a ship you buy toward rather than earn from a single event.

The build cost is 3,000,000 Tritanium, 625 3★ Common Refined Ore, 108,000 Dilithium, and 4,100 3★ Common Refined Gas, with a build time of 23 days. Those figures are the base cost from the current game data; your refining and building levels change what you actually pay and how long it takes.

B’Rel ability

The B’Rel’s always-active Ship Ability is Obfuscation. When it fights Hostiles, for the first round of combat it lowers the opponent’s Armor Piercing, Shield Piercing, and Accuracy by 15% at ship level 1, rising to 35% at level 45. Ship abilities are always on, so there is nothing to trigger.

In practice this softens the first volley you take from a hostile, which matters most on a thin-hulled ship like this one. It buys the B’Rel a better opening exchange against targets near its own tier, but it does nothing after round one, so the ship still wants fights it can finish quickly.

B’Rel active ability

The B’Rel can also equip Ship Cloaking, a player-triggered ability with a cooldown. While cloaked, the ship is hidden until the cloak’s duration runs out, you enter combat, begin mining, or dock at a station. The cooldown shortens as the ship tiers up.

Cloaking turns the B’Rel into a quiet way to cross contested space or reposition without being jumped. It needs the cloaking refit below before it is available.

Stats and tiers

Base values from the current game data; research, buffs, and officers raise them in play.

Tier Warp (speed / range) Impulse Cargo (protected) Shield HP Hull HP Health (displayed)
Tier 1 3.4 / 33 100 12,000 (250) 72,200 25,252 48,726
Tier 5 3.8 / 46 100 21,340 (310) 85,234 25,252 55,243
Tier 9 4.2 / 65 100 48,000 (500) 143,650 25,252 84,451

The shield pool climbs steadily across tiers while the hull stays flat, which fits a ship that leans on avoidance and its opening debuff more than on soaking damage.

Weapons and firing pattern

Warm-up is the round a weapon first fires; cool-down is the number of rounds between shots after that. These are the max-tier (Tier 9) values.

Weapon Type Shots Warm-up Cool-down Damage Crit chance Crit damage
Phaser Turret 1 Energy 1 1 1 16,281–19,537 10% 150%
Phaser Turret 2 Energy 1 1 1 16,281–19,537 10% 150%
Photon Torpedo Kinetic 2 2 3 35,813–42,975 10% 150%

The Photon Torpedo is the hardest-hitting row, firing twice but only every third round after it warms up, while the two Phaser Turrets tick every round for steady chip damage.

Crew slots and officer bonus

The B’Rel opens its first officer slot at ship level 5 and reaches a full bridge of seven at level 45.

The ship also raises your officers’ stats as it levels. Attack, defense, and health all use the same bonus ladder, so the single column below applies to all three.

B’Rel refits

Refits are shard-cost upgrades that unlock extra behavior on the ship. The B’Rel has three.

Refit What it does
B’rel Cloaking Enables cloaking for the B’Rel. Costs 80 shards to unlock.
B’rel Relentless Assault Unlocks the Relentless Assault ability, which raises the ship’s base damage against Hostiles and Armadas, scaling with the ability’s tier from 2000% up to 3000% at its maximum. Requires a level 32 Armory building and 80 shards.
Hijacked TOS B’Rel Class Unlocks the Hijacked refit and skin. Costs 60 shards. Increases the ship’s base weapon damage by 300% and the cost efficiency of B’Rel parts, materials, and resources by 100%.

The B’Rel also has a research-linked ability, Hijacked D7 Class, whose values scale with your research rather than the ship itself.

Crew for the B’Rel

Because the B’Rel is a low-tier Explorer that survives on its opening debuff and its cloak, crew it for whatever job you are actually using it for. If you send it against hostiles near its tier, favor a captain and bridge that add weapon damage or opening-round mitigation so Obfuscation and the first salvo do the most work. If you fly it cloaked as a scout or hauler, protected cargo and survivability officers matter more than raw attack.

Specific picks move with the game’s meta, so check the Officer Tier List for current recommendations, and expect the best crew to shift as new officers arrive.

Crews for B’Rel

Captain: Next Gen La Forge
Officer: Next Gen Riker
Officer: Next Gen Data

A good crew for PvP or PvE when on a B’Rel.

Captain: Christopher Pike
Officer: Marlena Moreau
Officer: T’Laan

A good crew when fighting interceptors or ships with kinetic weapons.

The B’Rel in Star Trek

The B’rel class is the small Klingon Bird-of-Prey seen from the movie era onward, the compact scout-and-raider design most fans picture when they think of a Bird-of-Prey. On screen it carries a crew of only a handful, mounts a cloaking device, and shows up for reconnaissance, boarding runs, and quick strikes rather than fleet battles. The in-game B’Rel keeps that character: a light, short-range explorer that trades firepower for stealth and mobility, exactly the role its canon counterpart filled.

Is the B’Rel worth it?

For its grade 3 band, the B’Rel is a niche pick rather than a must-build. Its value is the cloak and the opening-round debuff, which make it a handy utility ship early on. It does not hold up as a main combat hull as you climb, but it stays useful as a cloaked mover and, once you pass Operations level 46, as a scrap feeder for parts and resources. Chase it if you want a low-tier Klingon cloaker; skip it if you only need a fighter.
