Enterprise NX-01

The Enterprise NX-01 is an Epic, grade 4 Independent Explorer that unlocks at Shipyard level 40. It is a specialist rather than an all-rounder: a heavy-hull ship with a large cargo hold and a damage ability built around one hostile type, the Xindi-Aquatic. If you run that content it earns its slot; if you don’t, it sits as a collection ship with plenty of survivability and storage.

How to get the Enterprise NX-01

The Enterprise NX-01 needs 200 blueprints and a Shipyard at level 40 before you can start the build. The build cost is 20,000 4★ Common Refined Gas, 36,000,000 Tritanium, 4,000,000 Dilithium, and 5,000 4★ Common Refined Ore, and the build takes 30 days to finish. The game data lists the requirement and the cost but not where the blueprints come from, so plan around those totals and collect the blueprints from whatever event or store is offering them at the time.

Enterprise NX-01 ability

The ship ability is called Learning The Hard Way, and like all ship abilities it is always on. It raises the NX-01’s base damage against Xindi-Aquatic hostiles, starting at 16,000,000% at level 1 and climbing to 370,000,000% at level 60 (current as of the latest game data). In plain terms, this ship exists to farm Xindi-Aquatic targets: against them the multiplier is enormous, and against anything else the bonus does not apply. The NX-01 also has one activatable ability slot you switch on when you need it.

Stats and tiers

Base values below come from the current game data; research, buffs and officers raise them in play.

Tier Warp (speed / range) Impulse Cargo (protected) Shield HP Hull HP Health (displayed)
1 4.66 / 70 78 500,000 (30,000) 0 500,707 250,353.5
6 6.33 / 140 88 1,420,000 (100,000) 0 882,065 441,032.5
12 8 / 200 100 4,240,000 (280,000) 0 4,044,421 2,022,210.5

Look at the shield line: the NX-01 runs on hull, not shields. Its shield HP reads zero at every tier, so all of its survivability sits in a very large hull pool. That makes hull repair costs and hull-focused defensive officers matter more than usual for this ship.

Weapons and firing pattern

Warm-up is the round a weapon first fires; cool-down is how many rounds pass between shots after that. Values are shown at max tier 12.

Weapon Type Shots Warm-up Cool-down Damage Crit chance Crit damage
1 Energy 1 1 1 98,969–119,863 10% 150%
2 Energy 1 1 1 98,969–119,863 10% 150%
3 Kinetic 4 2 2 72,585–87,908 10% 150%
4 Kinetic 4 2 2 72,585–87,908 10% 150%

The two energy weapons fire every round from round one, while the two kinetic weapons fire four shots each but need a two-round warm-up and a two-round cool-down, so they land in heavier bursts on a slower cycle.

Crew slots and officer bonus

The NX-01 opens officer slots as it levels up:

Ship level Officer slots
5 1
10 2
20 3
30 4
40 5
45 6
55 7

On top of the slots, the ship raises your officers’ attack, defense and health as it progresses. The data marks all three bonuses identical, so one ladder covers them: as the ship’s officer stat contribution climbs, the bonus steps up from 50% to 500%.

Amount Bonus
1,500 50%
3,000 100%
4,875 150%
6,750 200%
9,000 250%
12,000 300%
16,500 350%
22,500 400%
30,000 450%
45,000 500%

Enterprise NX-01 refits

The NX-01 has one named refit in the data, the Columbia NX-02 refit.

Refit What it does
Columbia NX-02 Costs 120 shards to unlock. Doubles the output of the Officer Exchange that holds Rare and Epic Voyager officer shards in the Ex-Borg faction store.

Crew for the Enterprise NX-01

Because the NX-01 tanks on hull and its damage ability only fires against Xindi-Aquatic hostiles, the sensible bridge depends on the job. For clearing those specific hostiles, seat a captain and officers that raise weapon damage and keep the hull alive; for hauling, lean on cargo and protected-cargo officers instead. The ship’s own bonus already lifts whichever officers you seat, so a coherent crew beats a scattered one. I am not naming a fixed crew here, because the best picks shift with the meta and with which officers you have leveled. For current recommendations, see the officer tier list, and remember that crews change as new officers arrive.

The Enterprise NX-01 in Star Trek

The NX-01 is the first warp-5 starship in Starfleet history and the setting of Star Trek: Enterprise, under Captain Jonathan Archer. Launched in 2151, roughly a century before Kirk’s Enterprise, it carried humanity’s first deep-space crew and helped lay the groundwork for the Federation. Its voyages ran through early friction with the Klingons, the Xindi crisis that threatened Earth, and the Temporal Cold War. The in-game story leans on that legacy, presenting the NX-01 as the product of Henry Archer and Zefram Cochrane’s warp research and the start of the Enterprise line that later ships inherited.

Is the Enterprise NX-01 worth it?

For a grade 4 Epic, the NX-01 is a specialist. Its ability makes it a strong pick for players who farm Xindi-Aquatic content, and its oversized cargo hold and deep hull give it a second life as a hauler and a durable body. Outside that niche it is outclassed by combat ships in its bracket, since the headline damage bonus never applies. Chase it if you want the Xindi role or the collection piece; skip it if you need a general-purpose warship at Shipyard 40.
