Dr. Bones’ Wild Ride is a level 55 mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you pull Doctor McCoy off Rigel V as a Romulan fleet arrives, then fly him home to the Enterprise. It is picked up in Bairbre and needs warp 285 to start and to complete. There are two Romulan fights, at about 26.1 and 28.5 million strength. The reward is 3,000,000,000 Parsteel, 500 3 Hour Speed Ups and Federation reputation, at a cost of 4,950,000 Klingon Points.
Dr. Bones’ Wild Ride objectives
McCoy is on Rigel V helping the Rigelians oversee production of an experimental chemical stimulant. Rigelian patrols have spotted a Romulan fleet nearby, and he does not want to wait around to find out why. Sending the Enterprise might provoke the Romulans, so he asks you to collect him instead.
- Retrieve Dr. McCoy from Rigel V. Location: Rigel.
- Defeat the Romulan Centurion. Location: Rigel. Enemy strength is roughly 26,141,406.
- Make your escape. Location: Stradania.
- Defeat the Romulan Gladius. Location: Stradania. Enemy strength is roughly 28,524,865.
- Return Dr. McCoy to the bridge of the Enterprise. Location: Sol.
When you arrive, the Romulan fleet drops its cloak in orbit over Rigel V. The planet’s orbital defences are holding, but you have to help drive the attackers back before McCoy can be beamed up safely. He brings a backup of the Rigelian research data with him and suggests leaving while the fleet is distracted.
A Romulan Gladius follows you out to Stradania, and McCoy advises taking the first shot. With that settled, he asks to go back to the Enterprise, last seen in the Sol system. Kirk greets him by asking who won the game of tag with his Rigelian friends, and McCoy says he needs a drink. There is no choice split.

The pickup system is Bairbre. The mission needs warp 285 to start and warp 285 to complete, and it takes you through three systems in order: Rigel, Stradania and Sol. The recommended level is 55.

Tips
The second fight is the harder one. The Gladius in Stradania is listed about 2.4 million strength above the Centurion at Rigel, so repair between the two if you took damage.
The 500 3 Hour Speed Ups add up to 1,500 hours of build or research time, which is a lot for one mission. Together with 3 billion Parsteel, that makes this a strong payout for a level 55 story mission.
