The Centurion is an Uncommon grade 3 Romulan Explorer that unlocks at Shipyard level 28. Its Territorial ability raises the armor, shield deflection, and dodge of your whole fleet while it is defending, which makes it a station-defense and support hull rather than a raw damage dealer. It can also cloak once refitted. For an early-to-mid game Romulan player who wants fleet-wide protection, it is a useful defensive explorer worth building.
How to get the Centurion
Building the Centurion needs 100 blueprints and a Shipyard at level 28. With the blueprints in hand, the base build cost is 1,600,000 Tritanium, 53,000 Dilithium, 275 3★ Common Refined Ore, and 2,200 3★ Common Refined Gas, and the base build time is 17 days. Those are base figures; your buildings and research lower the real cost and time. Where the blueprints come from changes over time, so check the current stores and offers before committing resources to it.
Centurion ability
The Centurion’s ship ability is Territorial. While the ship is on the defending side of a fight, it increases the Armor, Shield deflection, and Dodge of every ship and defense platform you have. The bonus starts at 20% at level 1 and climbs to 60% at level 45. Ship abilities are always active, so you never trigger Territorial by hand; it applies automatically whenever the Centurion is defending. That is what makes it a natural station-defense pick, where the buff shields the rest of your defending fleet.
Centurion active ability
Once you unlock the cloaking refit, the Centurion can use Ship Cloaking. This hides the ship, and the cloak drops when its duration runs out or when you enter combat, begin mining, or dock at a station. You switch it on yourself, and it helps you move through contested space without drawing hostile fire. Cloaking is a Romulan signature, and the Centurion is one of the earlier hulls that can carry it.
Stats and tiers
Base values from the current game data; research, buffs and officers raise them in play.
| Tier | Warp (speed / range) | Impulse | Cargo (protected) | Shield HP | Hull HP | Health (displayed) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 | 3.2 / 28 | 100 | 10,000 (230) | 22,610 | 17,870 | 20,240 |
| Tier 5 | 3.6 / 40 | 100 | 22,970 (280) | 28,099 | 17,870 | 22,984.5 |
| Tier 9 | 4.0 / 60 | 100 | 60,000 (450) | 52,700 | 17,870 | 35,285 |
Weapons and firing pattern
Warm-up is the round a weapon first fires, and cool-down is the number of rounds between shots after that. At tier 9 the Centurion carries three energy weapons.
| Weapon | Type | Shots | Warm-up | Cool-down | Damage | Crit chance | Crit damage |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pulsed Phase Cannons | Energy | 1 | 1 | 1 | 12,560–15,351 | 10% | 150% |
| Pulsed Phase Cannons | Energy | 1 | 1 | 1 | 12,560–15,351 | 10% | 150% |
| High Charge Phaser Bank | Energy | 2 | 2 | 1 | 11,304–13,816 | 10% | 150% |
All three are energy weapons, so the Centurion leans on shield-stripping damage rather than kinetic or explosive hits.
Crew slots and officer bonus
Crew slots open up as the ship levels.
| Ship level | Officer slots |
|---|---|
| 5 | 1 |
| 10 | 2 |
| 20 | 3 |
| 30 | 4 |
| 35 | 5 |
| 40 | 6 |
| 45 | 7 |
The Centurion also boosts your officers’ attack, defense and health by the same amount, stepping up the ladder below as the ship progresses. Because the three stats move together, the bonus is applied once, not three times.
| Amount | Bonus |
|---|---|
| 140 | 30% |
| 280 | 60% |
| 455 | 90% |
| 630 | 120% |
| 840 | 150% |
| 1,120 | 180% |
| 1,540 | 210% |
| 2,100 | 240% |
| 2,800 | 270% |
| 4,200 | 300% |
Centurion refits
The Centurion has two refits, each bought with ship shards. The cloaking refit switches on the Ship Cloaking ability described above. The Relentless Assault refit unlocks a separate ability that increases the ship’s base damage against Hostiles and Armadas; its strength scales with a matching research project, so treat it as a growth path rather than a fixed number.
| Refit | What it does |
|---|---|
| Centurion Cloaking | Enables the Ship Cloaking ability. Costs 60 shards to unlock. |
| Centurion Relentless Assault | Unlocks the Relentless Assault ability, which raises base damage against Hostiles and Armadas. Requires a level 28 Armory and 60 shards. |
Crew for the Centurion
Because Territorial only fires while defending, the Centurion earns its place as a station-defense hull or a support ship in an armada, not as a solo attacker. Crew it to back that job: officers that raise the survivability of your defending fleet, or that add damage when the ship is fighting hostiles or armadas with Relentless Assault unlocked. For current picks, see the officer tier list, and keep in mind that crews shift with the meta.

The Centurion in Star Trek
Centurion is a Romulan military rank rather than a named starship from the shows. In the original series episode Balance of Terror, the Romulan commander’s second in command holds that title. The ship here is a Star Trek Fleet Command design built around that Romulan flavor. In the game’s own story, the Centurion class is an elite explorer often seen in Imperial fleets, and Praetor Bervas is said to have commanded one before he rose to lead the Star Empire, winning early prestige by retaking the Narendra system from the Klingons.

Is the Centurion worth it?
For a grade 3 Uncommon, the Centurion is a solid defensive explorer. It unlocks at Shipyard 28, gives fleet-wide protection while defending, and opens up early cloaking that few hulls at its level can match. It is scrappable from Operations level 42, so later on it becomes parts and resources for bigger ships. Build it if you want a Romulan defense support hull for the early-to-mid game; skip it if you only care about raw offense.
