Redundancy is a level 55 Klingon Science Group (KSG) mission in Star Trek Fleet Command in which you gather the raw materials K’ulass needs to rebuild his lost engine. It starts and finishes at warp 1, and the whole mission is three mining objectives: 100 each of 5★ Raw Gas, Ore and Crystal. The reward is 56,250,000 Dilithium, a set of 5★ Common Interceptor Parts and Klingon reputation, and it unlocks On the Verge. There are no fights, so a mining ship can handle all of it.
Redundancy objectives
K’ulass wants to build a working prototype of what he calls the Regenerator, and he asks you to keep the plan between the two of you. If the pirates who struck the KSG before hear about it, he expects them to strike again.
- Mine 100 G5 Gas (5★ Raw Gas).
- Mine 100 G5 Ore (5★ Raw Ore).
- Mine 100 G5 Crystal (5★ Raw Crystal).
Each material has a job in his design. The Gas powers the cell regeneration matrix. The Ore goes into the frame, because ore from this sector is unusually dense and the machine can run hotter than 400 degrees, enough to bend a weaker metal. The Crystal, broken down and ionized, supplies the energy that keeps the Regenerator running. Once all three are in, K’ulass declares it time to get to work. There is no choice split.
Where and what warp
No pickup system is listed, and the mission needs warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete. None of the three objectives names a system, so you can mine the 5★ nodes wherever you can reach them. The recommended level is 55.

Redundancy sits in the middle of the KSG story about the Kos’Karii Engine. The neighbouring missions differ mostly in how far you have to fly.

Redundancy is the only one of the six that pays Dilithium.
Tips
Send your best 5★ miner. None of the three objectives is tied to a system, so fill whichever of Gas, Ore or Crystal has a node closest to you first.
Redundancy and What Do We Do Now? both finish at warp 1, but On the Verge jumps to warp 285. If you are working through the story, have a ship with that range ready before you hand in the Crystal.
