Who Wants to Live Forever? is a level 62 Federation mission in Star Trek Fleet Command in which Doctor Bashir finds a species with medical technology that could end aging. You pick it up in New Bombay and need warp 1,000 to start and to finish, and every objective is in Krokenia. The one fight is against a Romulan patrol. The reward is 5,000 Σ-Parsteel, 139,000 Raw Σ-Tritanium and 3,600 Federation Credits, plus a Federation Points gain.
Who Wants to Live Forever? objectives
There are five objectives, all in the same system, with no choice split:
- Find the newly discovered planet. Location: Krokenia.
- Approach the Nyxin. Location: Krokenia.
- Intercept the Romulan fleet. Location: Krokenia.
- Defeat the Romulans. Location: Krokenia (enemy strength ~3,367,690,171).
- Return to the Nyxin. Location: Krokenia.
Julian Bashir was on his way to a medical conference when an ion storm forced his shuttle down. His Andorian colleagues crashed on another planet, and you give him a lift to find them. His colleague Chiyiv turns up alive and looking healthier than before, thanks to the Nyxin.
The Nyxin healer Ulda shows Bashir how their people mend the sick, and he realises their technology can replicate cells perfectly, with disease, wounds and aging all treatable. Then Romulan ships enter the system. Bashir does not want the Romulans to learn about the Nyxin, so he asks you to turn them away. Their commander claims to be patrolling the Neutral Zone border but changes course for the Nyxin world, and you destroy the ship.
When you return, Ulda asks why people who preach peace are so quick to kill. Bashir’s answer about preparing for war does not convince the Nyxin, and the mission ends on that note.
Where and what warp
The pickup is New Bombay, and warp 1,000 covers the start and the finish. After the pickup the whole mission stays in Krokenia, so there is only one trip out. The recommended level is 62.

This is the only mission in the group that pays refined Σ-Parsteel, though at 5,000 it is a small amount.
Tips
Bring a combat ship. The Romulan fight at about 3.37 billion strength is the only combat, and it is a little easier than the Threv fight in The Sincerest Form of Flattery and well below the 4.19 billion vessel in Paradise Automated.
Since everything is in Krokenia, you can park there and clear the five steps without extra travel.
