The Sign of the Three is a Klingon story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. You pick it up in Kronos and report to Deneva, where a Klingon, a Romulan and a Federation ship are locked in a stand-off. It needs warp 38 to start and to finish, and its listed recommended level is 1. Every path pays 100,000 Klingon Points, 600 Klingon Credits and 35 3★ refined resources, while costing Romulan and Federation standing. The fight at the split is the hard part: well over a million strength.
The Sign of the Three objectives
The mission opens with one shared step and then a three-way choice:
- Investigate the stand off in the Deneva system. Location: Deneva.
- How will you proceed? This is the choice split.
Path 1: destroy the USS Constellation
- Destroy the USS Constellation. Location: Deneva. Enemy strength is roughly 1,385,777.
- Return to the High Council with word of the separatist movement. Location: Kronos.
Resource reward: 35 3★ Uncommon Refined Gas.
Romulan path: defeat the IRW Augur
- Defeat the IRW Augur. Location: Deneva. Enemy strength is roughly 1,373,877.
- Return to the High Council with word of the separatist movement. Location: Kronos.
Resource reward: 35 3★ Uncommon Refined Ore.
Federation path: defeat the IRW Augur
- Defeat the IRW Augur. Location: Deneva. Enemy strength is roughly 1,373,877.
- Return to the High Council with word of the separatist movement. Location: Kronos.
Resource reward: 35 3★ Uncommon Refined Crystal.
The Romulan and Federation paths list the same objectives and the same enemy. They differ only in which refined resource you receive. Path 1 is the only one that fights the USS Constellation instead of the IRW Augur.
Where and what warp
The Sign of the Three is picked up in Kronos. Warp is 38 to start and 38 to complete, and the route is a round trip: Kronos to Deneva for the stand-off and the fight, then back to Kronos to report to the High Council.
The listed recommended level is 1, but both enemies sit between 1.37 and 1.39 million strength, so the fight is the real gate.

All three paths share most of the payout. The only difference is the 35 refined resources.

Every path unlocks the next part of the chain.
Tips
Choose by the refined resource you need. The faction numbers, the Klingon Credits and the Damaged Datapad are identical across all three paths, so the gas, ore or crystal is the only real decision.
Bring your strongest combat ship. The enemy on every path is close to 1.4 million strength, and there is no warm-up fight before it.
Expect a large standing hit. Every path costs 137,600 Romulan Points and 51,600 Federation Points, so the mission pushes you firmly toward the Klingons whatever you choose.
