The Inevitable is a level 26 story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command in which you deal with the Klingon backlash from the previous mission. You return to your station, track a Klingon ship to Talmir-86 and defeat the Klingon Officer aboard it at roughly 198,251 strength. The mission can be picked up at warp 1 and needs warp 22 to finish. The reward is 17,000 Dilithium and 20 Recruit Tokens.

The Inevitable objectives

There are three objectives and no choice split:

  • Return to your Station.
  • Find the Klingon ship. Location: Talmir-86.
  • Defeat the Klingon Officer. Location: Talmir-86. Enemy strength is roughly 198,251.

Unusually, the mission opens with a return to your station rather than ending with one, so recall your ship first. From there you head out to Talmir-86, a level 26 neutral system, locate the Klingon ship and fight it. The Klingon Officer is a battleship-type target, and beating it completes the mission on the spot.

Where and what warp

The mission can be picked up at warp 1, and completing it needs warp 22. Talmir-86 is the only system named.

The recommended level is 26, which matches the level of Talmir-86. The Klingon Officer at about 198,251 strength is the step that decides whether your ship is ready.

How it follows From the Brink

The Inevitable picks up after From the Brink, in which you rendezvous with T’Pora and stop a Klingon Separatist ship in Ajilon. Current game data for the last three missions in this run, all recommended for level 26:

Mission Recommended level Warp to complete Fight Rewards
One More Round 26 17 None; travel to Fastolf and Huebr 336,000 Parsteel, 50,000 Tritanium
From the Brink 26 17 Separatist Ship in Ajilon, about 204,300 16,000 Dilithium, 50 5 Minute Repair Speed Ups
The Inevitable 26 22 Klingon Officer in Talmir-86, about 198,251 17,000 Dilithium, 20 Recruit Tokens

One More Round, where you help T’Pora slip into Romulan space, is the quiet start with no combat at all. From the Brink and The Inevitable each add one scripted fight, and the two fights are almost the same strength, with The Inevitable’s target slightly weaker. What changes is the warp: The Inevitable needs 22 against From the Brink’s 17, so check your range before you start.

Tips

Bring the ship that won From the Brink. It beat a target at about 204,300, so the Klingon Officer at about 198,251 should be within reach once it is repaired.

Repair during the first objective. The mission starts by sending you home, which is a free chance to fix any damage before the trip to Talmir-86.

Use the repair speed ups from From the Brink here if you need them. Other missions sorted by level are on the mission guide.
