The Imposter is a five-part Star Trek Fleet Command mission chain about someone claiming to be Harry Mudd. You follow reports of Mudd’s return with Ro, track the imposter through a ship trader, corner the Stella, chase the imposter again and finally lure the fake Mudd into an ambush. Every part lists recommended level 30, the chain begins in Kuzukoh, and warp to complete is 24 on every part except Part 4, which needs 26. Rewards lean on speed-ups and peace shields, with Tritanium, Parsteel and a little refined ore and crystal. It is a steady run through rogue space with three named fights and 27 hostile kills.

Tips for completing The Imposter
Most of the work is hostile grinding. Part 1 asks for ten hostiles of level 28 or higher, Part 4 for five of level 30 or higher and Part 5 for twelve of level 29 or higher. Clear them close to the next objective so you are not flying back and forth across rogue space.
The named fights ramp up quickly. The Exchange Guard in Part 2 is around 133,290 strength, then the Stella in Part 3 and the Starfleet ship in Part 5 both sit near 294,000 to 296,000. If your ship handles the Exchange Guard with room to spare but struggles above 200,000, upgrade before Part 3.
Parts 1 and 3 end out in the field, at Valance and Wallach, with no return-to-station step. You can start Part 2 or Part 4 from where you are instead of flying home first, and in Part 4 you can grind the five hostiles near Wallach before heading to Van Cleef.
Keep 250,000 Dilithium ready for Part 3. The part pays back 117,000 Dilithium, so the net cost is 133,000. There are no other donations in the chain.
Warp stays at 24 except for Part 4, which needs 26 for the run to Van Cleef and Sahqooq. The 27 repair speed-ups from Part 2 arrive just before the Stella fight, and the two 1 day peace shields from Parts 1 and 3 are worth saving for a stretch when you expect trouble. For other level 30 missions, see the mission guide.
Are The Imposter rewards worth it?
Yes, if you want speed-ups and shields more than officers. The chain pays 30 3 Hour Speed Ups, four 1 Day Speed Ups, 50 15 Minute Repair Speed Ups, two 1 day peace shields, 544,000 Tritanium, 2,415,000 Parsteel, 117,000 Dilithium, 9 3★ Uncommon Refined Ore, 9 3★ Uncommon Refined Crystal and 8 Latinum. There are no officer shards. The cost is a 250,000 Dilithium donation, 27 hostile kills and three named fights, which is fair for a level 30 commander who needs build time cut down.
