Political Prisoner is a level 14 mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you deliver a Rigellian political prisoner back to his homeworld. You pick it up in Rigel, travel to Azaxa in the Nausicaa system, and return to Rigel III. It needs warp 10 and has no fight. The reward is a Lucia Gonzales shard and a Rigellian Datapad. It is the only Datapad mission from Rigel that pays an officer shard.
Political Prisoner objectives
Two objectives across two systems, no choice split:
The mission is a round trip: out to Azaxa in Nausicaa, then back to Rigel III. No hostile is listed, and nothing has to be donated or mined.
Where and what warp
Political Prisoner is picked up in Rigel and needs warp 10 to start and to complete. The recommended level is 14. With no combat, any ship with warp 10 range can finish it.
Political Prisoner rewards
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| Lucia Gonzales shards | 1 |
| Rigellian Datapad | 1 |
Political Prisoner does not unlock another mission.
Other Rigel missions that pay a Rigellian Datapad
| Mission | Level | Warp | Rewards |
|---|---|---|---|
| Battle Analysis | 13 | 10 | 50 Premium Recruit Token, 700 Officer XP, 1 Rigellian Datapad |
| Encroachment | 13 | 10 | 3 1★ Survey Parts, 1 Rigellian Datapad |
| Political Prisoner | 14 | 10 | 1 Lucia Gonzales shard, 1 Rigellian Datapad |
| Smuggler’s Run | 14 | 10 | 1 1★ Survey Parts, 1 Rigellian Datapad |
| Vaccine | 14 | 11 | 1,800 Parsteel, 1 Rigellian Datapad |
| Suspicion | 17 | 10 | 6,000 Parsteel, 200 Dilithium, 1 Rigellian Datapad |
| The Least Expected | 18 | 10 | 15,000 Parsteel, 1 Rigellian Datapad |
| The Warband | 19 | 10 | 2 1★ Survey Parts, 1 Rigellian Datapad |
All of these are picked up in Rigel. Political Prisoner is the one to take if you want the officer shard, while The Least Expected pays the most Parsteel. Two more Rigel pickups, Care Package and Imported, also pay a Datapad, for 2,500 and 320 Tritanium respectively.
Tips
Take several Rigel missions at once. They share the same pickup system and nearly the same warp, so one trip can clear more than one Datapad.
Lucia Gonzales shards also come from The Warp Trail Less Traveled, which pays 3 of them on one of its two paths, and from Show of Force, a level 12 mission that pays 1 shard with an Orion Manifest. The mission guide lists every mission by level.
