The Least Expected is a Star Trek Fleet Command mission from the Rigel system, where you uncover the cause of an energy drain on the Rigellian colonies. It is recommended for level 18 and needs warp 10 to start and complete. You investigate Rigel IV, visit Rigel V and defeat Jakobed, the Pakled saboteur behind it. The reward is 15,000 Parsteel and 1 Rigellian Datapad. It is the best Parsteel payout among the Rigel missions and takes only one easy fight.
The Least Expected objectives
There are three objectives in a fixed order and no choice split, all in Rigel:
- Investigate a power drain on Rigel IV. Location: Rigel.
- Visit Rigel V. Location: Rigel.
- Defeat Jakobed, the Pakled saboteur. Location: Rigel. Enemy strength is about 6,745.
The investigation takes you from Rigel IV to Rigel V, and the trail ends with Jakobed. Because every step is inside one system, there is no long travel once you have accepted it.
Where and what warp
The Least Expected is offered in Rigel and needs warp 10 to start and to complete. Rigel is the only system involved.
The recommended level is 18. Jakobed is listed at about 6,745 strength, which is light for that level.
The Least Expected rewards
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| Parsteel | 15,000 |
| Rigellian Datapad | 1 |
The mission does not unlock a follow-up.
Other missions from Rigel
Rigel offers a whole set of missions at warp 10, and most of them also pay a Rigellian Datapad. A few for comparison:
| Mission | Recommended level | Rewards |
|---|---|---|
| Encroachment | 13 | 3 1★ Survey Parts, 1 Rigellian Datapad |
| Political Prisoner | 14 | 1 Lucia Gonzales shard, 1 Rigellian Datapad |
| Dark Moon | 16 | 14,000 Parsteel |
| Suspicion | 17 | 6,000 Parsteel, 200 Dilithium, 1 Rigellian Datapad |
| The Least Expected | 18 | 15,000 Parsteel, 1 Rigellian Datapad |
| The Warband | 19 | 2 1★ Survey Parts, 1 Rigellian Datapad |
The Least Expected pays the most Parsteel of the Rigel set and still includes a Datapad. Dark Moon is close on Parsteel but gives no Datapad.
Tips
Any combat ship near level 18 can handle Jakobed at about 6,745 strength, and there is no donation to prepare.
If you are collecting Rigellian Datapads, run the other Rigel missions while you are in the system. They all start at warp 10.
Other missions by level are on the mission guide.
