Never Let the Truth Get in the Way of a Good Story is a level 62 Federation mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. A Red Squad training exercise near Triga V is ambushed by Klingons, and one cadet, Ammi of the Bajoran Initiative, is taken. You pick it up in Triga-5, need warp 1,000 to start and to finish, and fight twice before bringing her home. The reward is 1,080,000,000 Dilithium, 208,000 Raw Σ-Dilithium and 3,600 Federation Credits.
Never Let the Truth Get in the Way of a Good Story objectives
There are six objectives across three systems, with no choice split:
- Save the stranded Starfleet vessel. Location: Triga-5 (enemy strength about 2,643,533,500).
- Take Red Squad to New Bombay. Location: New Bombay.
- Meet with Admiral O’Connor. Location: New Bombay.
- Track down the Klingons in Qorfit. Location: Qorfit.
- Defeat Mkurmak. Location: Qorfit (enemy strength about 2,632,999,787).
- Bring the Cadet safely to Triga V. Location: Triga-5.
Admiral Gomar calls for help as the cadets’ ship is attacked. The Klingons beam crew off the ship and escape behind a masked warp trail, so while Gomar’s outpost searches for them you carry the wounded cadets to New Bombay. There Admiral O’Connor tells you the Klingons may have wanted Ammi for information about Bajor, and that their ship has been traced to Qorfit. Mkurmak brags about his prisoner and then attacks. With his ship crippled, you beam Ammi aboard and take her back to Triga V, where Gomar promises to look into the Klingon interest in Bajor.
Where and what warp
The mission is picked up in Triga-5, where the first fight and the final hand-in both happen. The middle of the mission moves to New Bombay and then Qorfit. Warp 1,000 covers both the start and the finish. The recommended level is 62.

Tips
The two fights sit at about 2.6 billion strength each and are spread out: one at the start in Triga-5 and one near the end in Qorfit. The trip to New Bombay in between is a good moment to repair.
If you are short on Dilithium, this is the Triga-5 mission to run first, since both of its material rewards are Dilithium.
