In the Eye of the Beholder is a level 62 Romulan mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. Tomalok and Sela lead a Romulan force to watch a Klingon fleet gathering at the Neutral Zone, and Sela opens fire before the report is even sent. You pick it up in Ja’lana and need warp 1,000 to start and to finish. The mission has four combat objectives, ending with a Borg Cube, and pays 3,000 Culver Particle, 272,000 Latinum and 3,600 Romulan Credits.
In the Eye of the Beholder objectives
There are six objectives and no choice split. Almost everything happens in Qorfit:
- Join the battle. Location: Qorfit.
- Defeat 12 hostiles of level 60 or higher.
- Defeat Martok. Location: Qorfit (enemy strength about 2,643,533,500).
- Hold back the Borg! Location: Qorfit (enemy strength about 2,618,077,029).
- Defeat the Borg Cube. Location: Qorfit (enemy strength about 4,014,144,528).
- Retreat! Location: Gratia-3.
The Klingon ships are orbiting an Independent station in Qorfit. Sela orders every vessel to attack, which brings General Martok into the fight. Just as she has him beaten, a Borg Cube arrives, and Romulans and Klingons turn their guns on it together. The Romulan fleet takes heavy losses, so Tomalok calls a full retreat and asks you to hold the Cube off while their people get out. You finish by falling back to Gratia-3.
Where and what warp
The pickup system is Ja’lana, but the battle is in Qorfit and the retreat ends in Gratia-3. Warp 1,000 is needed both to start and to complete. The 12 hostile kills are not tied to a system. The game lists a recommended level of 62.

The Borg Cube is the hardest single fight, and it comes third in a row inside Qorfit.
Tips
Clear the 12 kills before you head into Qorfit if you can, then repair. Martok, the Borg forces and the Cube follow each other in the same system, so the fewer trips home you need in the middle, the better.
Bring a ship that can handle about 4 billion strength for the Cube. The earlier two named fights are closer to 2.6 billion, so a ship that barely wins those may need a repair stop before the last one.
The 272,000 Latinum is the largest reward, and the 3,000 Culver Particle is a useful extra. The story features Sela on your side and Martok as an enemy.
