Network Theory is a five-part Star Trek Fleet Command mission chain that begins when a Progenitor installation appears in Alhazar. You side with a Vulcan named T’Lonu, fetch Scotty, defend T’Lonu’s station from the Arkonians, supply materials for a Subspace Relay and finally hold off an attack on your own station led by Khala’r. Every part lists recommended level 25, and warp to complete is 22 for the first two parts and 17 for the rest. Rewards include two SNW Nyota Uhura shards, two SNW Erica Ortegas shards and plenty of 3★ ship parts. It is a fight-heavy chain that is worth it for the Strange New Worlds crew.

Tips for completing Network Theory
Expect ten ship fights across the chain, all between about 73,000 and 75,500 strength. Parts 2, 3 and 5 each stack three of them back to back with no travel in between, so repair before you start each of those parts and keep repair speed-ups handy. A ship that clears level 25 hostiles comfortably will manage every one. Part 1 has a single fight, the Vulcan ship at about 74,100, which makes it a fair test of whether your ship is ready for the three-fight parts that follow.
Two parts ask for materials. Part 2 needs 200,000 Tritanium for the Vulcan fleet, and Part 4 needs 15,000 G2 Raw Ore for T’Lonu. The Tritanium comes back as 151,000 in the Part 2 reward and 153,000 more in Part 4. Raw ore is the one to mine ahead of time, since G2 Raw Ore does not drop from the chain.
Warp is manageable. Parts 1 and 2 reach warp 22 for Alhazar and Hann, and the Ajilon parts drop to 17. Part 5 starts at home, so you can begin it without moving your ship.
The officer shards alternate between parts: Uhura in Parts 1 and 4, Ortegas in Parts 2 and 5. Finish all five to collect both pairs. Other level 25 chains include A Dark and Stormy Galaxy and In Times of Trouble, and the mission guide lists more.
Are the Network Theory rewards worth it?
Yes, especially if you want the Strange New Worlds officers. The chain pays two SNW Nyota Uhura shards and two SNW Erica Ortegas shards, along with 480 3★ Explorer Parts, 250 3★ Interceptor Parts, 130 3★ Battleship Parts, 304,000 Tritanium, 1,037,000 Parsteel, 68,000 Officer XP and 27 assignment speed-ups. The costs are 200,000 Tritanium, 15,000 G2 Raw Ore and ten moderate fights, which is a fair trade at level 25.
