A Dark and Stormy Galaxy is a five-part Star Trek Fleet Command mission chain built around plasma storms. You save an Independent ship caught in one, investigate strange reports, escort a scientist who studies the storms and finally chase down a captain to retrieve the tech. Every part lists recommended level 25, the chain opens in Kosz, and no part needs more than warp 20. Each part pays 175 Assembly Medals, and the chain adds 1,200 Ultra Recruit Tokens, 80,000 Ship XP, Dilithium and a final choice between recruit tokens and a peace shield. It is short, with only two named fights, and worth doing for the medals and tokens.

Tips for completing A Dark and Stormy Galaxy
Three parts ask for resources, so gather them before you start. Part 1 needs 30,000 Dilithium to break up the storm, Part 2 needs 1M Parsteel for the cargo vessel repair, and Part 4 needs 150,000 Tritanium for the research. The Parsteel is the one most likely to hold you up at level 25.
Combat is light. The bandit in Part 2 sits around 74,100 strength and the captain’s ship in Part 5 around 75,312, so a ship that handles level 25 hostiles will manage both. The ten level 25 kills in Part 3 are the slowest step, and you can clear them anywhere before beaming the scientist aboard.
Warp stays between 13 and 20 for the whole chain, with the Part 3 trip through Godui, Rator and Qualor being the longest. Fuel up before that part.
In Part 5, sharing the tech costs one extra stop in Sorenle and pays 250 Ultra Recruit Tokens, 364,000 Parsteel and 48,000 Officer XP. Keeping it skips that stop and pays Dilithium, speed-ups and a 4 hour peace shield. Pick the peace shield if you need protection soon, otherwise the tokens and Officer XP go further.
Other chains at this level include Network Theory and In Times of Trouble, and the mission guide lists the rest.
Are the A Dark and Stormy Galaxy rewards worth it?
Yes. The chain pays 875 Assembly Medals across five parts, 1,200 Ultra Recruit Tokens from Part 3 alone, 80,000 Ship XP, 1,300 Latinum 69,000 Dilithium, plus the Part 5 choice. The costs are three donations and two fights near 75,000 strength, which is light for a level 25 commander. If you are collecting Assembly Medals, run it as soon as you reach the level.
