A Battle for the Ages is a ten-part Star Trek Fleet Command mission chain built around the scattered senior crew of the Enterprise-D. It opens with an escape pod signal, moves through a Cardassian prison break and the defense of a Bajoran outpost, and then splits at Part 6 when Deanna Troi asks you to join her. From there the story runs into the Progenitors and ends in Part 10. Recommended level sits at 31 to 32, and the chain begins in the Elva system. Along the way you earn Wesley Crusher and William T. Riker shards, 800 Ultra Recruit Tokens at the finish, and a large resource haul. It is one of the better-paying chains at this level.

A Battle for the Ages Part 1
Track the escape pod and catch up to the ship carrying it. You meet the Enterprise crew in Elva, follow the pod’s signal to Amok’tal, and end the part with a fight.

A Battle for the Ages Part 2
Pick up Riker’s trail. You check in at the Bajoran outpost in Kejal, find the scouting party in Sintek, and clear a group of hostiles along the way.

Tips for completing A Battle for the Ages
Most parts push you out to warp 25, so keep a ship fueled for the long jumps between Elva, Amok’tal, Korok, Biruin, and Blys. Part 5 at warp 5, Part 8 at warp 19, and Part 10 at warp 1 or 5 are the exceptions, which makes them quicker to clear in a session.
The combat is steady rather than spiky. Named fights with a listed strength sit between about 415,226 and 431,670 from Part 1 onward: the ship in Part 1, the guard in Part 3, the Path B target in Part 6, the Starfleet ship in Part 7, the Arkonian ship in Part 8, and the ships in Parts 9 and 10. Bring a combat-ready crew rather than a survey build. Parts 2 and 4 also ask you to clear level 30 to 31 hostiles, which is easy to line up in the systems around the Bajoran outpost while you are already there.
The Part 6 choice matters more than it looks, because it sets the version of Parts 7, 9, and 10. Joining Deanna leads to 3,214,000 Parsteel in Part 7, 158,000 Dilithium in Part 9, and a warp 1 finale. Staying with the Enterprise leads to Tritanium and refined gas in Part 7, a bigger mixed bundle in Part 9 with speed ups, a peace shield, and Latinum, and a finale at warp 5 in Kejal. Both routes end with the same 800 Ultra Recruit Tokens, so pick the path whose resources you are shorter on.
Save the 4 Hr Peace Shields from Part 4 and your Part 7 or Part 9 branch for the long warp 25 trips, when your ship is away from home. The 1 hour speed ups from Parts 3 and 8 help keep the pace up between fights. For more chains at this level, see the STFC mission guide.
Are the rewards from A Battle for the Ages worth it?
Yes. The chain hands you 8 Wesley Crusher shards in Part 1 and 5 William T. Riker shards in Part 5, then closes with 800 Ultra Recruit Tokens and 250 Latinum in Part 10. On top of that you collect millions in Parsteel and Tritanium, including 5,000,000 Parsteel in Part 8 alone, plus Dilithium, Officer XP, speed ups, refined materials, and peace shields. The warp 25 legs are the main cost in time, but none of them are out of reach for a level 31 to 32 player.
