An Honest Living is a late story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command in which you infiltrate a scavenger base. You search Odin, pay a 41M Tritanium donation, follow an informant to Maumo, clear ten level 48 hostiles and gather the evidence. It can be accepted at warp 1 but needs warp 150 to complete. The game lists a recommended level of 1, but the warp, the level 48 kills and the donation make this an endgame task. The reward is 31 4★ Rare Refined Gas and 120 4★ Uncommon Refined Gas, and finishing it unlocks Shellshocked.
An Honest Living objectives
There are five objectives in a fixed order and no choice split:
- Search for the scavenger base. Location: Odin.
- Donate 41M Tritanium.
- Follow the informant’s directions. Location: Maumo.
- Defeat 10 hostiles of Level 48 or higher.
- Gather the evidence from the scavenger base. Location: Maumo.
The donation comes second, before any fighting, so you need the Tritanium on hand early. The kill objective does not name a system, and any level 48 or higher hostile counts.
Where and what warp
The mission can be accepted from warp 1, but Odin and Maumo need warp 150 to complete it. The recommended level is listed as 1. In practice you need a ship with warp 150, one that can beat level 48 hostiles, and a stockpile of 41 million Tritanium.

Where to find level 48 hostiles on the route
Both mission systems hold level 48 or higher hostiles in current hostile data, so the kills can be done without leaving the route:

Maumo is where the kill objective falls in the sequence, but Odin has more options at the right level.

An Honest Living is the only one of the three with a large donation, and its warp to complete is slightly lower than the two before it. The Burden of Proof colony options range from an 8M Dilithium donation to a fight against a Romulan scout or 15 level 47 kills.
Tips
Stockpile the Tritanium first. At 41 million, the donation is the step most likely to hold you up, and it comes before the fights.
Plan the ten kills in Odin if Maumo is quiet. The Fearless Bandits and Independent Traders there cover level 48 and 49.
The 4★ Rare Refined Gas is the harder reward to come by, so save it for upgrades that ask for rare-grade gas. Other missions are on the mission guide.
