The game lists a recommended level of 1, but the USS Spearhead at roughly 7,414,271 power and a 25M Tritanium donation are what you actually need to plan for. The reward is 28 4★ Rare Refined Gas and 100 4★ Uncommon Refined Gas, and finishing it unlocks The Dust Settles.
This Fire Burns objectives
There are five objectives and no choice split:
- Stop another Starfleet assault. Location: Dohrmas.
- Defeat the USS Spearhead. Location: Dohrmas. Enemy strength is roughly 7,414,271.
- Evacuate Klingon wounded. Location: Dohrmas.
- Donate 25M Tritanium to ready the planet’s defenses.
- Bring the wounded to Kronos. Location: Kronos.
The mission picks up in Dohrmas, where the previous mission left off. You meet the Starfleet assault, beat the USS Spearhead and evacuate the wounded. The Tritanium donation shores up the planet’s defenses, and the last step takes the wounded to Kronos.
Where and what warp
This Fire Burns can be picked up at warp 1 but needs warp 120 to complete. Dohrmas and Kronos are the two systems involved.
The listed recommended level of 1 is not a useful guide. The USS Spearhead at about 7.4 million power is one of the strongest single fights in this storyline, and the donation is a large resource cost on top.

Unlike most missions in this storyline, This Fire Burns pays no Klingon Credits or reputation. The payout is refined gas only, and the 4★ Rare Refined Gas is the harder of the two to come by.

Ferocity comes directly before this mission. It pays 50 1M Tritanium Tokens, which is 50 million Tritanium, well over the 25M this mission asks you to donate.
Reciprocation, from a different storyline, has an almost identical shape: a 33M Tritanium donation, a fight near 7.2 million, and 27 4★ Rare plus 100 4★ Uncommon Refined Gas as the reward.
Tips
Keep the Tritanium from Ferocity. Opening those tokens before this mission covers the 25M donation with room to spare.
Win the fight first, then donate. The Spearhead comes before the donation step, so there is no reason to spend the Tritanium until the hard part is behind you.
