The Narada Vortex is a Federation mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you scan the surviving planets of the Vulcan system for Red Matter damage. It is picked up in Vulcan, needs warp 17 to start and complete, and the game lists a recommended level of 1. There are three scans and no fights, all inside the Vulcan system. The reward is 50 3★ Explorer Parts, 80 Federation Credits, 800 Federation Points and a Cargo Container, with small Klingon and Romulan reputation losses.
The Narada Vortex objectives
There are three objectives and no choice split:
- Scan Ket-Cheleb. Location: Vulcan.
- Scan T’Khut. Location: Vulcan.
- Scan Amma. Location: Vulcan.
All three planets are in the Vulcan system, so once you are there the mission is a short tour. Ket-Cheleb comes first, then T’Khut, then Amma. No hostile is listed and nothing is donated, and the mission ends on the last scan with no return-to-station step.
Where and what warp
You pick up The Narada Vortex in Vulcan, and both the start and the finish need warp 17. Since every objective is in the same system, there is no further travel once you arrive.
The recommended level is 1. With no combat, warp 17 is the only real requirement.

The Narada Vortex and Heritage Site pay the same faction rewards and carry the same reputation losses. The Narada Vortex is the only one in the group with no fight at all.
Tips
Use any ship that can reach warp 17. With no combat, a survey ship or a spare hull does the job and keeps your combat ship free for the Vulcan missions that need one.
Pair it with the other Vulcan missions. They start in the same system at the same warp, so running a few together cuts down on travel.
