Rosetta Stone is a Star Trek Fleet Command collection mission: gather 3 Encryption Keys from missions on Rator, P’Jem or Morska. It needs only warp 1 to start and finish, the game lists a recommended level of 1, and there is no fight of its own. The real work is running the missions that pay out the keys. The reward is 500,000 Parsteel and 75 3★ Survey Parts, and finishing it unlocks A Link to the Past. If you are already doing faction missions in those systems, it pays out for work you would do anyway.
Rosetta Stone objectives
There is one objective and no choice split:
- Collect 3 Encryption Keys from missions in P’Jem, Rator, or Morska.
The mission does not send you anywhere itself. Instead it counts Encryption Keys, which come as rewards from other missions based in P’Jem, Rator and Morska. Once three keys are in hand, the objective completes.
Where and what warp
Rosetta Stone lists warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete, with no pickup system. The warp that matters is the warp of the missions you use to collect keys, which reach well beyond warp 1.
The recommended level is 1. In practice you need to be able to pick up and finish the Encryption Key missions in Rator, P’Jem or Morska.
Rosetta Stone rewards
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| Parsteel | 500,000 |
| 3★ Survey Parts | 75 |
Completing the mission also unlocks A Link to the Past.
Missions that pay an Encryption Key
Several missions picked up in Rator and Morska include an Encryption Key in their rewards. Current game data:
| Mission | Pickup system | Warp to start / complete |
|---|---|---|
| The Consul | Rator | 20 / 20 |
| Triggered | Rator | 20 / 38 |
| Dissent | Nelvana, Rator | 27 / 27 |
| Away From the Hegemony | Morska | 20 / 22 |
| Lost Colors | Morska | 20 / 27 |
| Towers | Morska | 20 / 33 |
The Consul and Dissent pay Romulan faction rewards and the three Morska missions pay Klingon faction rewards, each with a reputation cost to the other factions. Triggered pays 5 3★ Rare Refined Ore alongside its key, with no faction points. Away From the Hegemony and The Consul have the shortest trips, both finishing at warp 22 or below, so they are the quickest way to start collecting.
Where it sits in the chain
Rosetta Stone follows Lesser of Three Evils. The next mission, A Link to the Past, begins to decode the message within the ancient artifact and asks you to upgrade Operations to level 26, for a reward of 1,000,000 Parsteel.
Tips
Pick the faction you are already working with. Because most of the Encryption Key missions come with reputation swings, it makes sense to take keys from the side you are building up rather than mixing Romulan and Klingon missions.
If you would rather limit reputation changes, Triggered in Rator is the one listed Encryption Key mission without faction points, though it needs warp 38 to finish.
The 75 3★ Survey Parts are the more specialised reward. They go toward survey ship upgrades, so keep them if you use a survey ship for mining. More missions by level are on the mission guide.
