Towers is a Klingon-aligned story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command in which you lay a trap for a band of uncooperative Independents. You find the Gorn’s moon in Beta Penthe, destroy the Independent Defender and then clear five hostiles of level 30 or higher. It is picked up in Morska, needs warp 20 to start and warp 33 to complete, and the game lists a recommended level of 1. The reward is 1,200 Ultra Recruit Tokens, Klingon Credits and Points, and an Encryption Key.
Towers objectives
The story line asks you to lay a trap for a band of uncooperative Independents. There are three objectives in a fixed order and no choice split:
- Find the Gorn’s moon in the Beta Penthe system. Location: Beta Penthe.
- Destroy the Independent Defender. Location: Beta Penthe. Enemy strength is roughly 200,351.
- Destroy 5 hostiles of level 30 or higher.
The Independent Defender is the one named fight. The kill objective does not name a system, and the mission ends as soon as the fifth kill is made.
Where and what warp
The pickup system is Morska, and the mission needs warp 20 to start and warp 33 to complete. Beta Penthe is where the fighting happens.
The recommended level is listed as 1. A ship that can beat a 200,351 strength Defender and five level 30 hostiles is what you actually need.

What the Encryption Key is for
The Encryption Key ties Towers to Rosetta Stone, a mission that asks you to collect three Encryption Keys from missions in P’Jem, Rator or Morska and pays 500,000 Parsteel and 75 3★ Survey Parts. Towers is picked up in Morska, so its key counts. Other Morska missions that pay a key include:

These three Morska missions alone provide the three keys Rosetta Stone needs. Towers has the highest warp of the group and pays the most Klingon Points and recruit tokens.
Where to find level 30 hostiles
Beta Penthe has Klingon hostiles well above the level 30 floor. Current hostile data lists Klingon Patrol ships from level 33 to 37 and Klingon Fighters from 32 to 36, along with several Klingon stations at levels 33 to 36. You can do the five kills right after the Defender without moving.
Tips
Repair after the Independent Defender. The five kills follow straight after.
Run all three Morska missions if you want Rosetta Stone. The keys add up quickly when the missions share a pickup system.
