Romulan War Coalition

The Romulan War Coalition is a Romulan Interceptor that patrols Romulan space between levels 35 and 41. It clusters through the D’Deridex, Cheron, and Haakona systems and their neighbors at warp 26 to 31. Kills drop Tritanium, Dilithium, 4-star Broken Interceptor Parts, and faction reputation with the Federation and the Klingons. Since it flies an Interceptor, bring an Explorer-class ship and the fight ends fast.

How to beat the Romulan War Coalition

The Romulan War Coalition only appears as an Interceptor, so the counter never changes: bring an Explorer-class ship. Explorers out-trade Interceptors in the game’s hull triangle, so a level-appropriate Explorer takes less damage and returns more. There is nothing to swap between levels 35 and 41, since the hull stays the same the whole way up.

For the crew, put a captain that raises weapon damage against hostiles in the captain’s chair, then fill the other two seats with officers that add damage or shield mitigation. If you are still early and short on options, the cadet trio of Cadet Kirk as captain with Cadet Spock and Cadet Uhura is a serviceable starter against faction hostiles. By the time you are farming a level 35 to 41 target you likely have stronger picks, so check the Officer Tier List for current best crews. Crews shift with the meta, so treat any named lineup as a starting point, not a permanent answer.

Where to find the Romulan War Coalition

Every spawn sits in Romulan space. The lower levels stay near entry systems like Aerimea, Aesir, and Vanir at warp 26, while the higher levels push deeper toward Haakona, Terminimurus, and Yadalla at warp 31. Match your warp range to the level you want, park in one system, and farm.

Rewards and what it drops

The Romulan War Coalition pays out refined materials, Interceptor build parts, and faction reputation. As a Romulan target, defeating it raises your Federation and Klingon standing while lowering your Romulan standing, so grind it when you want to swing reputation away from the Romulans. Ship XP climbs with the level, so higher spawns train your hull faster.

Drop What it is
Federation Points Federation reputation, which rises when you defeat this Romulan target
Klingon Points Klingon reputation, which also rises from these kills
Romulan Points Romulan reputation, which these kills lower; the cost of farming a Romulan hostile
Tritanium Refined material for ship and building upgrades (drops at levels 35 to 39)
Dilithium Premium currency for research and upgrades (drops at levels 35 to 39)
4★ Broken Interceptor Parts Components for building and upgrading 4-star Interceptors (drops at levels 40 to 41)

Romulan War Coalition stats

Stats vary little by hull here (it is Interceptor only) but climb steeply with level, so a level 41 spawn hits far harder than a level 35 one. These anchor rows show the low, middle, and top of the range.

Level Total strength Hull HP Shield HP Attack Defense Ship XP
35 3,115,940 1,928,615 1,753,286 714,944 560,045 1,502
38 5,909,287 3,646,963 3,315,421 1,379,590 1,048,505 1,875
41 8,480,618 5,182,165 4,711,059 2,086,486 1,447,520 2,250

Romulan War Coalition firing pattern

It carries two weapon groups. A single Energy weapon fires every round for steady damage, while a pair of Kinetic weapons fire every other round and hit more than twice as hard per shot. Time your repairs or shield mitigation for the rounds the Kinetic guns come online, since that is when a chunk of your health disappears.

Weapon type Count Damage per shot Fires Crit
Energy 1 36,693 to 44,846 Every round 10% (1.8x)
Kinetic 2 88,063 to 107,634 Every other round 10% (1.8x)

The Romulans in Star Trek

The Romulans are a Star Trek civilization descended from Vulcans who rejected Surak’s path of pure logic and left their homeworld to settle Romulus and Remus. They built a secretive, militarized state, the Romulan Star Empire, ruled through the Senate and shadowed by the Tal Shiar intelligence service. On screen they are known for cloaking technology and a cold, patient strategic streak, and for a long standoff with the Federation and the Klingons that shaped much of 24th-century politics. Their warbirds, powered by an artificial quantum singularity, made the Empire one of the Alpha Quadrant’s most feared powers.

Is the Romulan War Coalition worth grinding?

It earns its place if you need 4-star Broken Interceptor Parts, a steady Tritanium and Dilithium trickle, or a reputation swing toward the Federation and Klingons. The single Interceptor hull keeps it simple: one Explorer crew handles the whole level 35 to 41 band. Match your warp to the spawn, bring the hull you counter with, and it becomes a low-effort farm.
