New Recruit is one of the first main storyline missions in Star Trek Fleet Command, recommended for level 2. It has a single objective, recruiting a new officer, and it needs only warp 1 to start and finish. The reward is 100 Parsteel and a 5 Minute Speed Up, and completing it unlocks Enhancements. It is an early, quick step that needs no travel and no fight.

New Recruit objectives

There is one objective and no choice split:

  • Recruit a New Officer.

No system, enemy or donation is involved. The mission completes once you recruit an officer.

Where and what warp

Warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete, with no pickup system. Everything happens from your Station. Since the objective has no system attached, it does not matter where your ships are when you complete it, and there is no flight home to wait for afterward.

The recommended level is 2, which matches the other opening missions around it.

New Recruit rewards

Reward Amount
Parsteel 100
5 Minute Speed Up 1

Completing New Recruit unlocks the next storyline mission, Enhancements.

New Recruit and the opening missions

The first missions of the storyline walk you through the basics one step at a time:

Mission Recommended level Task Rewards
Nausicaan Ambush 2 Defeat the Nausicaan ships 50 Tritanium, 10 1★ Explorer Parts
Tune Up 2 Upgrade the Realta to Tier 2 75 Tritanium, 5 1★ Explorer Parts
Fragments 2 Investigate the unusual energy readings within the system 20 Recruit Tokens
New Recruit 2 Recruit a new officer 100 Parsteel, 1 5 Minute Speed Up
Enhancements 3 Upgrade Operations to Level 3 200 Parsteel
The Hunt 3 Appease the Klingon Captain Choice of 50 1★ Explorer Parts or 200 Parsteel

Fragments, the mission just before New Recruit, pays 20 Recruit Tokens, so the two missions come as a pair: the first hands you tokens and the second asks you to recruit.

Tips

Do the recruit as soon as the mission appears. It needs no travel and no fight, so there is nothing to prepare, and clearing it right away keeps the storyline moving toward Enhancements and The Hunt.

Keep the 5 Minute Speed Up for a build timer. Enhancements, the next mission, is an Operations upgrade to level 3, and a small speed up takes a bite out of that timer.

The full storyline order is on the main storyline missions page. Previous mission: Fragments. Next mission: Enhancements.
