Khan’s Champion 3 – Captain is the third of five Khan’s Champion missions in Star Trek Fleet Command. One of Khan’s Champions appears near your station, you defeat it, and you log the battle report. The game lists a recommended level of 50 and warp 1 to start and finish, but the champion’s strength of about 2.66 billion is the real requirement. The only reward is 3,000 Hijacked Insignia. For most players at level 50, this is a mission to come back to later.
Khan’s Champion 3 – Captain objectives
There are two objectives and no choice split:
- Defeat Khan’s Champion. Enemy strength about 2,661,078,775.
- Log the Battle Report in your Station’s archives.
The champion is detected close to your station and your crew calls a red alert. Once it is beaten, logging the report finishes the mission, so the station can study the champion’s tactics.
Where and what warp
No pickup system or location is listed. The mission needs warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete, and the fight happens near your station.
The recommended level is listed as 50. At about 2.66 billion strength, though, the champion is more than a hundred times stronger than the named enemies in level 50 to 53 story and side missions, which top out at around 25 million. Judge readiness by your ship’s power, not your level.
Khan’s Champion 3 – Captain rewards
The only reward is 3,000 Hijacked Insignia. There is no resource, speed up or faction reward.
All Khan’s Champion tiers
| Mission | Recommended level | Champion strength | Hijacked Insignia |
|---|---|---|---|
| Khan’s Champion 1 – Cadet | 30 | about 3.89 million | 500 |
| Khan’s Champion 2 – Ensign | 40 | about 50.1 million | 2,000 |
| Khan’s Champion 3 – Captain | 50 | about 2.66 billion | 3,000 |
| Khan’s Champion 4 – Warlord | 60 | about 74.1 billion | 4,000 |
| Khan’s Champion 5 – Nightmare | 70 | about 4.1 trillion | 6,000 |
Captain is where the champion’s strength jumps from millions into billions: about 53 times the Ensign champion, for only 1,000 more Insignia. Every tier has the same two objectives and warp 1.
Tips
Do not attempt it with a ship built for ordinary level 50 content. The strength gap is too large. The mission has no time limit listed and no travel, so leaving it until your fleet is stronger costs nothing but the wait for the Insignia.
Log the report straight after the fight. It costs nothing and completes the mission.
Other fights near your station with no travel are the Combat Training missions, and your own defense platforms have their own page. More missions by level are on the mission guide.
