Fortress of Flesh and Bone is a level 64 Romulan mission in Star Trek Fleet Command in which the Klingons abduct Lord Vrellok and you help the Reman Initiative snatch him back from a Klingon fortress ship. It is picked up in izar and needs warp 1,200 to start and to complete, with everything located in Wq’al. You defeat 15 hostiles of level 63 or higher, then damage a fortress ship of about 7.46 billion strength. The reward is 3,000 Culver Particle, 303,000 Raw Σ-Tritanium and a large Romulan reputation gain.
Fortress of Flesh and Bone objectives
There are four objectives in a fixed order and no choice split:
- Find the Klingon Fortress ship. Location: Wq’al.
- Defeat 15 hostiles of Level 63 or higher.
- Damage the Fortress ship. Location: Wq’al. Enemy strength about 7,459,021,298.
- Find Lord Vrellok. Location: Wq’al.
Pannion reports that Grida-7, Qudorin and Tir Morta have all been hit at once by Klingon forces. Tomalak explains that a Romulan attack on Federation systems succeeded, but left them open to an opportunistic Klingon assault, and General Kaxom has wrecked much of the Tir Morta colony. Worse, the Klingons have taken Vrellok, whose loss would crush Reman morale and whose knowledge of Romulan security would be lethal in Klingon hands.
Yurx has tracked the warship, and you draw fire off his scouts. His plan is for you to take hits along the fortress ship’s flank and knock its shields down while the Remans fly past and beam out the Reman life sign aboard. It works, and Vrellok is beamed to your sickbay.

The mission is picked up in izar, and all located steps are in Wq’al. The fifteen hostiles can be anywhere. Warp to start and to complete is 1,200, and the recommended level is 64.

Tips
The fortress ship, at about 7.46 billion, is one of the strongest enemies in the Reman missions; only the USS Sahara, an optional fight in What Evidence? at about 8.17 billion, is tougher. Clear the fifteen hostiles first, repair fully, then bring your best ship.
