Faster The Chase is a level 28 story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you tail a private investigator, Verner, to find out who hired them. It runs through The Principium and Exchange Alpha, needs warp 24 to complete, and has two fights against Exchange Guards. It pays 500 Premium Recruit Tokens and 17 3 Hour Speed Ups, a strong return for a six-step mission.
Faster The Chase objectives
There are six objectives and no choice split:
- Track Verner to The Principium. Location: The Principium.
- Continue tracking Verner to Exchange Alpha. Location: Exchange Alpha.
- Defeat the Exchange Guard. Location: Exchange Alpha. Enemy strength is roughly 154,890.
- Scan the surface of Zakif to confirm the presence of Verner. Location: Exchange Alpha.
- Defeat the Exchange Guard. Location: Exchange Alpha. Enemy strength is roughly 133,290.
- Return to your Station.
The first two steps are the tail itself: The Principium first, then on to Exchange Alpha. Once you arrive, four objectives in a row happen in Exchange Alpha. You fight one Exchange Guard, scan Zakif to confirm Verner is there, then fight a second Exchange Guard before heading home.
The two guards are not the same strength. The first, at about 154,890, is the harder of the pair, and the second drops to about 133,290. If your ship wins the first fight, the second should not stop you.
Where and what warp
The mission is available at warp 1 and needs warp 24 to complete. The recommended level is 28. The Principium and Exchange Alpha are the only named systems, and once you reach Exchange Alpha you stay there until the final return to your station.
Faster The Chase rewards
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| Premium Recruit Token | 500 |
| 3 Hour Speed Up | 17 |
Completing it also unlocks the next mission in the storyline.
The 17 3 Hour Speed Ups add up to 51 hours of speed ups, which is the line most players will feel first. The 500 Premium Recruit Tokens go toward premium recruitment pulls.
Tips
Bring a combat ship, and repair between the two guards if you can. Both fights are in Exchange Alpha with only a scan between them, so any damage from the first Exchange Guard carries straight into the second.
Plan for the stronger guard first. At roughly 154,890 the first Exchange Guard sets the bar for the whole mission. The second guard is about 21,600 weaker, so it is the first fight you need to be sure of.
Save the speed ups for something long. Seventeen 3 hour speed ups are most useful stacked on a big building or research timer rather than spent one at a time on short jobs.
This mission has been listed on the wiki as Outlaws Part 2 in the Outlaws arc. The previous mission is Tactical Deployment and the next is Tattletale. Every other mission by level is on the mission guide.
