Scientific Advancements is a story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command that sends you into Romulanisch space to investigate the Progenitors’ incursion there. It has two travel objectives and no fights. The game lists a recommended level of 1, but finishing it needs warp 150, so only well-developed ships can complete it. The reward is 43,200,000 Parsteel, a large payout for two travel steps.
Scientific Advancements objectives
There are two objectives and no choice split:
Veisa is a level 46 Romulan system, where you locate the base. The mission then sends you back out to Maumo, a level 47 neutral system, to finish. No hostile, donation or return-to-station step is listed.
Wo und welcher Warp
The mission can be picked up at warp 1, but completing it takes warp 150. That is the real requirement. The listed recommended level of 1 does not tell you much here; the warp range needed to reach Veisa and Maumo decides when you can finish it.
Scientific Advancements rewards
The reward is 43,200,000 Parsteel. There are no parts, shards or speed ups attached.
Completing the mission unlocks Verborgene Zukünfte, vergessene Vergangenheit.
Where it sits in the Progenitor storyline
Scientific Advancements comes straight after Begünstigter, in which you follow a Romulan signal and decide how to deal with the Romulans. Current game Daten for the three missions in a row:

Scientific Advancements is the easy step between two harder ones. Beneficiary asks for either a 4M Dilithium donation or two fights near six million strength, and Hidden Futures, Forgotten Past cannot finish until your F&E-Abteilung reaches level 45.
Tips
Send a ship with range, not firepower. Nothing in this mission has to be fought, so any hull that can reach warp 150 will do, including a survey ship.
Check your R&D Department before moving on. The next mission ends with an R&D Department 45 upgrade, so if yours is well below that, the storyline will pause there until the building catches up. The Parsteel from this mission is one way to help pay for it.
