Pushing the Issue is a Romulan story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. Your Romulan contact, Caluka, has deserters to protect and too few ships, so she asks you to move a mining crew off a field in the Nuva system without bloodshed. The game lists a recommended level of 1, but it needs warp 120 to complete and one path has a fight at about 6.54 million strength, so treat it as a mid-40s mission. Both paths pay 220 4★ Uncommon Refined Ore, 700 Romulan Credits and 538,000 Romulan Points, and both cost Klingonisch and Federation standing.
Pushing the Issue objectives
The first step is shared:
- Find the miners. Location: Nuva.
- Decide how to deal with the miners (choice split, see below).
The miners claim they have Senate permission to work the field, as long as they pay taxes, and only need about 150 units of ore. Your crew senses something is off, but the job is to move them on.
Path 1: pay them off
The miners take the gas as compensation and pack up. Caluka is pleased it ended peacefully and says she now trusts you to be subtle.
Path 2: scare them off
- Disable the miner’s vessel. Location: Nuva. Enemy strength about 6.54 million.
- Return to Caluka. Location: Yina.
The miners dare you to act, you disable their ship, and they leave. Caluka calls it less subtle than she hoped, but no blood was shed.

No pickup system is listed and the mission starts at warp 1. Completing it needs warp 120, for Nuva and Yina. The listed recommended level is 1; the warp and, on Path 2, the 6.54 million strength fight are the real bar.

Tips
Pick the path you can finish. The rewards are identical, so the choice is 150 Raw G4 Gas against a fight with a 6.54 million strength ship. If you have the gas, Path 1 is the easy route.
Watch the reputation lines. You gain Romulanisch standing but lose 890,000 Federation Points and 200,000 Klingon Points either way. The Fraktionsruf page explains how these work.
