The best ship and crew for the V’ger Fighter start with the U.S.S. Excelsior. It is a Battleship, which counters the Fighter’s Explorer hull, and its ship abilities add Isolytic Damage and Apex Barrier against V’ger Fighters and disable the Fighter’s super weapon. Crew it with a hostile-damage captain and officers that add Isolytic Defense or mitigation. The V’ger Fighter is a Vger Clone hostile from level 51 to 80, found at warp 205 to 6000, and it drops U.S.S. Excelsior Energy Containment plus 5★ to 7★ Broken Explorer Parts.

V’ger Fighter crew and ship

The U.S.S. Excelsior carries three abilities built for this target. Pattern Delta increases its Isolytic Damage against V’ger Fighters by 500,000% at ship level 1, rising to 1,200,000% at ship level 75. Modulated Shield Harmonics increases its Apex Barrier against V’ger Fighters by 500,000,000 at level 1, rising to 1,200,000,000 at level 75, and also disables the Fighter’s super weapon, which otherwise interferes with the weapon systems of other ships. Its active Decloaking Deflector uses the deflector array to decloak a hidden V’ger Fighter, revealing its position and forcing it to attack you. Since both passive bonuses scale with ship level, leveling the Excelsior pays off directly here.

For the crew, seat a captain that boosts weapon damage against hostiles and fill the other seats with officers that add damage or mitigation. Look hardest at mitigation that holds up against Isolytic Damage: from level 55 the Fighter adds between 10,000% and 22,000% to its own Isolytic Damage at the start of combat and shreds 110% to 230% of your Apex Barrier. The Excelsior opens officer slots as it levels, one at ship level 5 up to seven at ship level 55. At level 51 and above you are past any cadet crew, so pull current names from the Officer Tier List; crews shift with the meta, so treat any lineup as a starting point.

How to beat the V’ger Fighter

The Fighter only appears as an Explorer, so a Battleship holds the hull advantage at every level and there is nothing to swap between systems. Its start-of-combat buffs grow in steps. At levels 51 to 54 it runs two named abilities, Entropic Existentialism and Plasma Energy Sphere. From level 55 it switches to a scaling package that adds more Isolytic Damage and Apex Barrier every few levels and shreds a growing share of your Apex Barrier. The higher you go, the less your own Apex Barrier protects you, so favor a quick kill and Isolytic Defense over a long exchange.

V’ger Fighter locations

V’ger hostile locations run from warp 205 to warp 6000. Levels 51 to 59 sit in systems at warp 205 to 500, most of them one system per level. Level 60 onward pushes into deep space, reaching warp 1500 by level 66 and 6000 for the level 80 spawn in Vapir-X. The other V’ger hostile, the V’ger Hurak Honorguard Interceptor, uses the same systems at the same levels, except that Indaego at level 51 holds only the Fighter.

Rewards and what it drops

Every V’ger Fighter drops 20 U.S.S. Excelsior Energy Containment, and the level band decides which grade of Broken Explorer Parts comes with it. Ship XP climbs from 1,000 at level 51 to 11,200 at level 66 and 47,400 at level 80, so the higher spawns are far better XP per kill if your ship can clear them.

Ablegen Amount per kill Ebenen What it is

V’ger Fighter firing pattern

The Fighter carries three Energy and three Kinetic weapons, all firing every round with the same damage band and a 10% chance to crit for 1.5x. The two damage types land together, so mitigation tuned against only one of them still leaves you taking heavy hits. The figures below are the level 51 spawn and scale up with level.

Weapon type Count Damage per shot Fires Crit
Energie 3 139,968,620–164,310,989 Every round 10% (1.5x)
Kinetic 3 139,968,620–164,310,989 Every round 10% (1.5x)

V’ger in Star Trek

V’ger began as Voyager 6, a 20th-century Earth space probe sent out to gather data and report back. Lost through a black hole, it was found by a distant world of living machines that read its simple programming literally, rebuilt it into a vessel of immense power, and sent it home to complete its mission. By the time the refit Enterprise met it in 2273, V’ger had grown into a colossal, cloud-shrouded intelligence searching for its creator. Star Trek Fleet Befehl turns that machine legacy into a wave of clone ships, the V’ger Fighter among them.

Is the V’ger Fighter worth grinding?

Yes, if you are building Explorers or working on the U.S.S. Excelsior. Every kill pays Excelsior Energy Containment, the Broken Explorer Parts rise from 5★ to 7★ as you climb, and ship XP gets generous in the 70s. Fly the Excelsior, level it to grow Pattern Delta and Modulated Shield Harmonics, match your warp to the level you can clear, and end fights fast so the Fighter’s Apex Shred never gets to matter. The hostile guide lists the other targets in this level range.
