Security Sweep is a level 9 main storyline mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you patrol a nearby mining system and clear out hostiles. Everything happens in Weh: you patrol the system, then defeat 5 hostiles there. It needs warp 5 to complete. The reward includes 4 Barot shards alongside Parsteel and ship parts, and finishing it unlocks The Galileo Seven.
Security Sweep objectives
Two objectives in one system, no choice split:
- Patrol the Weh system. Location: Weh.
- Defeat 5 Hostiles in Weh. Location: Weh.
The first step is a patrol of Weh. After that, 5 hostiles in the same system have to go down. No specific enemy is named, so you choose which fights to take.

There is no pickup system. The mission starts at warp 1 after Data Structure Overhaul and needs warp 5 to reach Weh. The recommended level is 9, and the previous mission is a station upgrade, so this is where the storyline sends you back out to fight.

Data Structure Overhaul is a station upgrade that continues Maia’s program, and The Galileo Seven sends you to help Uhura retrieve the stranded Enterprise crew on Murasaki Prime. Security Sweep sits between them as the combat step, and it is the only one of the three that pays an officer shard.
Tips
Pick the lowest level hostiles in Weh. The objective only asks for 5 kills, so there is no reason to take on anything that could send your ship back to repair.
Repair between fights if a kill leaves you low. A fresh ship clears the remaining hostiles faster than one limping from the last fight.
The Barot shards are the part of the reward you cannot buy with Ressourcen, so keep the mission in mind if Barot is on your crew list. The parts are split evenly, 20 Battleship and 20 Survey, so they help whether you are upgrading a battleship or a survey ship at this stage.
