The Orion Slaver is a Neutral hostile in Star Trek Fleet Command that turns up in two very different places. There is a low-level version around levels 5 to 8 for new commanders, and there are high-level versions at 45 to 47 and 50 to 52 for late-game players. It spawns as an Explorer at the low and top bands and as an Interceptor in the 45 to 47 band. The low levels drop Parsteel, while the high bands drop 4-star Broken Interceptor Parts and 5-star Broken Explorer Parts. Bring the hull that counters it and it goes down fast.

How to beat the Orion Slaver

The Orion Slaver shows up as two hull types, so the ship you bring depends on which one you are hitting. Combat in STFC runs on a rock-paper-scissors triangle: Interceptors beat Schlachtschiffe, Battleships beat Explorers, and Explorers beat Interceptors. Vermessungsschiffe barely fight, so leave them docked.

Against the Explorer version, which covers the level 5 to 8 starter spawns and the level 50 to 52 endgame spawns, bring a Battleship. Against the Interceptor version at levels 45 to 47, bring an Explorer. That single swap is the whole tactical decision on this hostile.

At levels 50 to 52 the Orion Slaver carries a ship ability called Interceptor Exploitation, which raises its damage against Interceptors by 50% for the first five rounds of combat. That top band is an Explorer, so you would counter it with a Battleship anyway, but the ability is a firm reason not to throw an Interceptor at the highest-level spawns.

For crew, put a captain that boosts weapon damage against hostiles in the captain’s chair and fill the other seats with Offiziere that add damage or mitigation. Early on, the cadet crew of Cadet Kirk as captain with Cadet Spock and Cadet Uhura clears the low-level Slavers cheaply. Where to find the Orion Slaver

The low-level Orion Slaver clusters across dozens of starter systems at warp 2 to 3, so new players run into it early and often. The high-level spawns are far rarer. The Interceptor band sits in a single system at warp 110, and the top Explorer band holds a small pocket of systems at warp 185. Match your warp range to the band you want to farm.

Rewards and what it drops

What the Orion Slaver drops depends entirely on which band you fight. The low-level spawns hand out Parsteel, the basic building material. The level 45 to 47 Interceptor band drops 4-star Broken Interceptor Parts, and the level 50 to 52 Explorer band drops 5-star Broken Explorer Parts, both used to build and upgrade higher-grade ships. Ship XP climbs steeply with level, so the high bands pay out far more per kill when you are leveling a ship.

Orion Slaver firing pattern

At the lowest level the Orion Slaver fires two Energy weapons for 49 to 60 damage per shot, once every round, after a one-round warm-up, with a 10% chance to crit for 1.5x. Damage scales up sharply with level, but the pattern stays simple: steady Energy fire with no heavy alpha strike you need to time repairs around. The figures below are the lowest-level record and rise with level.

The Orions in Star Trek

The Orions are a green-skinned species from the planet Orion, best known across Star Trek for the Orion Syndicate, a sprawling criminal network built on piracy, smuggling, and the slave trade. Orion slavers appeared as early as the original series pilot “The Cage,” where the Orion animal women were part of that trade. For new commanders the low-level Orion Slaver is easy target practice and a small Parsteel top-up while you learn the counter triangle. For veterans, the level 45 to 47 and 50 to 52 bands are a source of 4-star and 5-star ship parts plus solid ship XP, though they sit behind warp 110 and 185. Match your warp range, bring the hull you counter, and it drops quickly.
