Combat Training 1: Veteran is one of the very first combat training missions in Star Trek Fleet Command. Its single objective is to defeat level 1 hostiles, the weakest targets in the game. It needs only warp 1 to start and finish, and the recommended level is 1. The reward is 8 Dilithium and two 1 Minute Speed Ups, and completing it unlocks the next step in the series. With level 1 targets, it is about as easy as a combat mission gets.

Combat Training 1: Veteran objectives

Es gibt ein Ziel und keine Verzweigung:

  • Besiegen Sie Feinde der Stufe 1.

The series description sets the tone for every step: test your skills in battle against escalating difficulties of hostile enemies. At level 1 that escalation has barely begun. No system is named and no captain is involved, so any level 1 hostile you meet counts.

Wo und welcher Warp

Warp 1 to start, warp 1 to complete, no pickup system. Level 1 hostiles are the targets, so this is a mission you can finish with your starting ship.

Combat Training 1: Veteran rewards

Belohnung Amount
Dilithium 8
1 Minute Speed Up 2

Completing the mission also unlocks the next step, Kampftraining 2: Rookie.

How the first combat training steps compare

The early steps pay tiny amounts, but they climb quickly and start adding officer shards from level 3. Current game data:

Mission Objective Belohnungen
Kampftraining 1: Soldat Defeat 3 hostiles of level 1 or higher 3 Dilithium, 50 Officer XP
Kampftraining 1: Veteran Defeat level 1 hostiles 8 Dilithium, 2 1 Minute Speed Ups
Kampftraining 2: Rookie Defeat a hostile of level 2 or higher 2 Dilithium
Kampftraining 2: Veteran Defeat 5 level 2 or higher hostiles 12 Dilithium, 4 1 Minute Speed Ups
Kampftraining 3: Rookie Defeat a hostile of level 3 or higher 8 Dilithium, 1 Nächste Generation Troi shard
Kampftraining 3: Soldat Defeat 3 hostiles of level 3 or higher 12 Dilithium, 200 Officer XP, 1 Nächste Generation Troi shard

The Veteran step at level 1 pays the most Dilithium of the level 1 set and is the only one to add speed ups. From level 3 the rewards include officer shards, starting with Next Gen Troi.

How Veteran steps change later

At levels 1 and 2 the Veteran step is a plain kill objective. By level 6 it becomes a single named fight: Combat Training 6: Veteran asks you to defeat a hostile captain at about 669 strength, and every Veteran step with current data from there on follows that pattern. The early ones are the only Veteran steps you can clear with ordinary hostile kills.

Tips

Clear the whole level 1 set at once. The Soldier step before this one and the Rookie step after it both want low-level kills, so they fit into the same short session.

Use the 1 Minute Speed Ups on your first Gebäude. They are too small to matter later, but early builds are short enough for them to finish outright.
