Combat Training 10: Rookie is the first of the three level 10 combat training missions in Star Trek Fleet Command. You defeat one hostile of level 10 or higher, anywhere you find it. It starts and finishes at warp 1 with no pickup system, and pays 240 Dilithium and one Helvia shard. It is a one-kill mission, so there is no reason not to clear it the moment a level 10 hostile is in range.

Combat Training 10: Rookie objectives

The story line is the one shared by the whole combat training series: test yourself against hostiles of rising difficulty. There is one objective and no choice split:

  • Defeat a hostile of Level 10 or higher.

No system is named and no specific enemy is listed, so any hostile at level 10 or above counts.

Wo und welcher Warp

Warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete, with no pickup system. The only real requirement is reaching and beating a level 10 hostile, which most players can do early on.

The game lists a recommended level of 1. A ship that handles level 10 hostiles is all you need.

The level 9 and 10 combat training tiers

Combat training runs in a fixed order: Rookie, then Soldier, then Veteran at each level, before moving up. The tiers around this one look like this:

Mission Objective Belohnungen
Kampftraining 9: Rookie 1 hostile of level 9+ 160 Dilithium, 1 T'Laan shard
Kampftraining 9: Veteran Hostile captain, ~1,903 strength 400 Dilithium, 6 15 Minute Speed Ups, 2 T’Laan shards
Kampftraining 10: Rookie 1 hostile of level 10+ 240 Dilithium, 1 Helvia shard
Kampftraining 10: Soldat 5 hostiles of level 10+ 360 Dilithium, 3,600 Officer XP, 1 Helvia shard
Kampftraining 10: Veteran Hostile captain, ~2,334 strength 600 Dilithium, 8 15 Minute Speed Ups, 2 Helvia shards

The three level 10 Missionen pay four Helvia shards between them, so running the full set is the way to collect them. The Veteran tier’s hostile captain at about 2,334 strength is the hardest of the three.

Tips

Clear it during normal play. One kill against any level 10+ hostile finishes the mission, so it tends to complete while you grind for other reasons.

Move straight on to the Soldier tier. It asks for five level 10+ kills, so you can keep farming the same hostiles.

Collect all the Helvia shards. The Rookie tier gives one, Soldier another, and Veteran two, so the level 10 set pays four in total.

The mission before this one is Combat Training 9: Veteran. The full series is on the combat training missions page, and other early missions are on the Missionsleitfaden.
