A Cautious Approach is a Star Trek Fleet Command mission where you search Federation space for a Crucible. The game lists a recommended level of 1, it starts at warp 1 and needs warp 75 to complete, and it runs between Luoman and Kurchee. A Starfleet officer offers you the Crucible for 7M Tritanium, and you either pay or fight him for it. Paying earns 1,400 Latinum and refined Gas; fighting earns over 30 million Parsteel. It unlocks Lost Pieces.

The listed recommended level is 1. Warp 75 is the main bar; if you refuse the deal, you also need to beat a ship near 2 million strength.
Luoman is visited twice, first to find the Crucible and again to attach it. Kurchee is where the officer waits.

All three share the warp 75 finish. Crucibles also appear in the higher-warp version of Erwachen.
Tips
The story line is a search of Federation space for Crucibles. The Starfleet officer in Kurchee controls access to the one you find, and the deal is simple: pay, or you cannot take it with you.
Choose by what you are short of. Latinum and 4★ refined gas are harder to come by than Parsteel for most players, so paying is often worth the 7M Tritanium.
The 30 1M Parsteel Tokens on the fighting path add another 30 million Parsteel by their name, so that side pays about 60 million Parsteel in total.
Refuse only if you need Parsteel and can beat the officer. The fight comes straight after you decline, so go into Kurchee repaired.
