Data Structure Overhaul

Data Structure Overhaul is an early main storyline station mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. To keep advancing Maia’s program, it asks you to upgrade Operations to level 9. The recommended level is 9, it needs only warp 1 to start and finish, and the reward is 9,000 Parsteel. Finishing it unlocks Security Sweep. The reward covers nearly all of the Parsteel the upgrade itself costs.

Data Structure Overhaul objectives

There is a single objective and no choice split:

  • Upgrade Operations to Level 9.

No system is named and no hostile is listed. The mission clears when Operations reaches level 9.

Where and what warp

Warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete, with no pickup system. The whole mission happens on your station.

What Operations 9 needs

The game lists these costs and requirements for Operations level 9:

Requirement Amount
Parsteel 10,000
Tritanium 250
Buildings needed Shipyard 8, Tritanium Warehouse 8, Parsteel Warehouse 8
Base build time 5 hours

Data Structure Overhaul rewards

Reward Amount
Parsteel 9,000

Completing it unlocks Security Sweep, where you patrol nearby mining systems for hostiles.

Where it sits in the early story

Mission Recommended level Warp to complete What you do Rewards
Puppeteer 8 1 Defeat the Nausicaan pirate leader in Whinnul 6,000 Parsteel, 600 Officer XP
Data Structure Overhaul 9 1 Upgrade Operations to level 9 9,000 Parsteel
Security Sweep 9 5 Patrol nearby mining systems for hostiles 5,000 Parsteel, 20 1★ Battleship Parts, 20 1★ Survey Parts, 4 Barot shards

Tips

Check the warehouse requirements early. Both the Tritanium and Parsteel Warehouses have to be at level 8 before Operations 9 can start, and they are easy to miss.

Security Sweep comes next and pays Barot shards, so it is worth moving straight on. The full story order is on the main storyline missions page.
